There is a Chinese proverb “Rather than approaching the edge [of the waters] admiring the fish, it’s better to take a step back, and prepare to cast a net over the waters [and catch the fish].” [与其]临渊羡鱼，不如退而结网。《汉书·董仲书传》. When interpreting this proverb, it reminds us to sometimes take a step back from fixating too much on our goals, reflect and revise our approaches to reach our most immediate objective.
