This Product Manager, Core Network Services (CNS) is a critical role in the business and is part of the Product Team reporting into the Director of Digital Strategy & Business Development. You will be the end-to-end product and success owner whilst focussing on the performance of the products. Our client Birdon/Namjet are an Australian/US manufacturer of specialist marine equipment for the military and commercial sectors. Birdon is the designer and developer of the world's leading Bridge Er****on Boat (BEB) and Birdon America was established to pursue the US Army's BEB replacement program. Their main production facility is located in Denver USA, and you would report to their President. Birdon also own NamJet, one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of waterjet marine propulsion systems, used in a wide variety of commercial, military, and workboat applications.

This role is for the sole representative of these companies in Europe and therefore, you would be both the European Business Development Manager and the face of Birdon/Namjet. The primary aim of the role is to develop, pursue, and maintain new business opportunities for the company in the European Commercial and Military Maritime sectors.

To achieve this you will

Lead all client-facing sales activities in Europe (trade shows, client visits etc).
Identify and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including policy-makers, procurement officials, NATO in-country representatives and senior military leaders.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with governments so as to ensure that the Company is up-to date on relevant military and other maritime opportunities.
Maintain and develop product and technical knowledge within the waterjet propulsion and marine military (i.e., bridge boats, amphibious troop transport, etc) market.
Contribute to the overall team effort and other commercial and military activities / projects that may be assigned.
Manage the analysis, measurement, and tracking of market sales potential across assigned channels, regions, products, etc.
Build processes and procedures to understand competition and input to market lead pricing propositions for designated areas.
Present business development reports to leadership.
Manage the efficient transition of converted opportunity to account support team.

The ideal candidate would have

A sound educational background, most likely to degree level
Proven experience of successful outside sales/new business/market development experience in the marine or military sectors, ideally in more than one NATO country.
Extensive experience with NATO government's procurement practices and standards.
Experience in developing and responding to complex government or commercial RFP's.
Legal and commercial skills to be able to deal with contractual and financial conditions in contracts and tenders.
Technical marine and/or propulsion system applications is a plus.
Existing relationships within government or large military equipment suppliers is a plus.
Ability to travel without restriction for customer meetings and tradeshows throughout all of Europe on a regular basis as well as Australia and the United States on a limited basis. Valid UK driving license.
Exceptional networking and presentation skills required.
Excellent business level English is essential and another European language would be useful, but not required.
