Last long run until my very first Half marathon St Albans Half Marathon thanks to Mika Saha.
In March Mika asked me ' do you wanna do a half marathon for my new company?'
I said FUUUCK no.
I HATE RUNNING.
And yet here I am.
I started a little in lock down. Got myself up to 10km and that was more than enough. Gimme a football to chase and I'll be there all day...but I have just never liked running.
And I still don't really. But I've done it.
I've been disciplined to do it. Even when I didn't want to.
I did miss a couple of runs the schedule but overall it's been solid.
It has been a really interesting psychological experiment for me. It's required me to be disciplined and have a solid routine...2 things I am awful at.
I feel like it's given me a much needed energy and focus boost in life and kinda makes me wonder what else I can do if I put my mind to it...
Any advice for race day/ in general would be greatly appreciated!
If I can perform like I did today I will be well chuffed but I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed Pantera setting the pace ;)
I'd love it if you can come down to support us next week - is anyone else running on the day?
Also if you want to sponsor us it is a pretty great cause too be fair - helping homeless young people who have had a rough start to life.
We're over 50% of our target, would be awesome too smash that this week .
Much love to you xx
