We’re pleased to bring you the latest findings from Pulse, and in our second instalment we look at `global differences in attitudes to F&B’.

Once again there are clear geographical differences. For example, seeking familiarity is a relatively stronger motivator in the US (34% of respondents) and the UK (30% of respondents), than say China and India (just 18% of respondents in both cases) and Saudi Arabia (just 14% of respondents).
Interestingly, the US and UK are also more likely to ‘seek value-for-money dining options,’ than other consumers in other countries (28% and 24% respectively, versus a global average of 19%).

Ultimately, the secret is to customise space, tenants, uses, and design elements so they offer flexibility, but reflect local consumer behaviour and needs to maximise engagement and commercial feasibility.

If you’d like to speak to us about these results and how we help businesses turn data-driven insights into successful commercial strategies for airports, retail, and mixed use assets, message us at [email protected].

We’re pleased to bring you the latest findings from Pulse, Pragma’s global bi-annual consumer survey. Over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing the findings from our survey, starting this week with `global differences in attitudes to retail’.

Globally, around one quarter of consumers seek promotional deals or offers, with the US and UK significantly over indexing. Consumers in China and India are more likely to agree that their shopping habits more closely align with ‘seeking new products, brands and shopping experiences’ (20% in China and 22% in India versus 16% global average). Digging deeper, we can also reveal that Indian consumers are significantly more likely to ‘seek sustainable and eco-friendly product’s than the global average (24% versus 13%).
