ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Transition; what you need to know 👇

1. You will have until 31/10/2025 to complete the necessary updates to your and complete the transition across to the new standard.

2. Your certification body will need to complete a transition assessment before 31/10/2025 prior to an updated certificate being issued. This assessment will focus on your business’ against the new requirements of the standard, focusing heavily on the changes to of the standard.

3. You can transition at a audit, a recertification audit or a standalone assessment. Typically this will require additional audit time.

Clause 6.1.3; the :2022 changes and what you need to know 👇

➡ 6.1.3 c) has been updated to reference Annex A as containing a list of 'possible' information security controls in place of a 'comprehensive list of control objectives'.

➡ The term 'Control objectives are implicitly included in the controls chosen. The control objectives' has been removed and updated with 'The information security controls listed in Annex A are not exhaustive and additional'.

➡ 6.1.3 d) has been simplified and now explains that the organisation 'should produce a Statement of Applicability that contains;

1. the necessary controls (see 6.1.3 b) and c));
2. justification for their inclusion;
3. whether the necessary controls are implemented or not; and
4. the justification for excluding any of the Annex A controls'
