There's snow better way to chill your vodka this time of year.. ;)
We were recently gifted some of the Vodka range and really enjoying playing around with it in Xmas cocktails. Here's a drink that started out with the aim of recreating a classic Norwegian Christmas staple: Grøt.
Essentially a rich and creamy warm rice pudding, this is traditionally served on Christmas eve with a single almond hidden in the bowl as a prize for those who find it.

We've taken the base elements of this dessert and made a Xmas Vodka Sour twist that's both refreshing and cosy!
🎅🍚Santa's Grøtto🍚🎅
50ml Brewdog Seven Day Vodka
15ml Homemade Cinnamon Orgeat
100ml Glutinous Brown Rice Punch
1/2 Muddled Clementine
Muddle clementine then add all ingredients to tin and stir down with ice. Strain over ice block and dust with cinnamon.
This would probably also work really well as a milk punch with the addition of double cream; one to try in future.

The inspiration for our second entry into the Ice Ice Baby competition was to create a twist on the classic Bittenbender cocktail from . The original drink is topped with champagne which we've substituted with Sunuvabooch kombucha to keep the dry finish with added fruit notes. The diamond ice cube is a nod to both the clarity of the ice and the craft of cocktail making.

💎 Bittenbender Twist 💎

4 raspberries
Lemon peel
Orange peel
50ml Woodford Reserve Bourbon
20ml Cacao Nib Infused Campari
20ml Lemon Juice
20ml Ginger Syrup

Method:

Muddle first three ingredients then strain over hand carved ice diamond and top with 25ml Raspberry and Blue Cornflower Sunuvabooch Kombucha.

This Kombucha is so GOOD! We we're kindly given a bottle after a visit to where its made small batch by the lovely Kassidy 👏💕

For our entry to the 'Ice Ice Baby' competition, we decided to highlight the clean citrus notes in an lemon martini. Filling the Jazz Coupe perfectly, this handcarved clear ice block melts much slower than normal ice due to its purity, meaning the martini stays ice ice cold!

We often joke that St. Remy is the only Brandy we use in our Sazeracs and other classic cocktails and there's absolutely a reason for that. Not only is it a delight to sip, but the versatility of .cecile's finishes are second to none. It's is WARM today 😨🌞 Moved flat recently so still have a lot of alcohol and glassware in storage which is why we were extra grateful to receive two goodies from the awesome - the PERFECT salve for a very very sunny day!

First up is the Bramble: Scottish Gin, Lemon, Blackberry, Gooseberries.

A good measure of fine Scottish Gin with botanicals from Lost Loch distillery in Royal Deeside, freshly squeezed lemon juice and Scottish blackberries from Blairgowrie; finished off with Scottish Gooseberries that balance the cocktail with beautiful sweet and sour notes.

Next is a Scottish saline Old Fashioned: Speyside Whisky, Bitters, Honey Flavour, Sea Tangle

A strong measure of fine Blended Malt Scotch Whisky from Speyside: light and smooth with a hint of oakiness. Herbal botanical bitters help to balance, alongside orange to add citrus. Natural honey flavouring brings a richer, sweeter taste, and lastly, Scottish Sea Tangle from the East Neuk of Fife giving a salty finish.

If we're not drinking cocktails, chances are we're nerding out over proper coffee. Yes, it's insufferable but have you tried going back to instant after a properly brewed V60?! Ugh honey NO thank you!
Arguably one of our absolute favourite coffee haunts is the beautiful in Brighton where Ralph is currently based for a few weeks. Every damn coffee we've had here is great and the speciality range changes regularly so you're pretty spoilt for choice.
ALSO, did we mention the Biscoff tiffin? 😍

Here's a riff on a classic champagne cocktail using delicious Cognac Cask that brings brown sugar and barbequed banana sweetness to contrast with dry vermouth and citrus, all nitro-carbonated for a classic fizz! 💘
50ml Spytail Cognac Cask Rum
120ml Dolin Dry Vermouth
20ml Lemon Verbana Champagne syrup
1 Barspoon Raspberry Jam
CO2
Combine all ingredients and chill in freezer until ice cold. Transfer to iSi whipper and carbonate with CO2. Serve over a Starlino maraschino cherry with a lemon peel flower. Enjoy with a loved one and chocolate🥰

We often mix up non alcoholic cocktails as part of our repertoire. It's a delicious way to have a midweek celebration without the hangover. As today is our 🎂birthday🎂 we'll be raising a glass of this absolute banger of a drink in celebration. Sorry but it absolutely slaps 🙌🏻😎

20ml Homemade Grenadine*
20ml Kiwango Juice (and seeds)**
Top with Double Dutch Cucumber and Watermelon Tonic

As well as it being Burns Night tonight, it's also National Irish Coffee Day! ☕☘️ To celebrate, we're raising a Shanky's Whip Irish Coffee, the perfect warm cocktail for a cold evening 🔥 Mixed with , this really slaps!
Side note: for those who know us, you'll know we're massive coffee geeks and we were honestly VERY impressed by this coffee, it was a solid medium roast that we ran through a Moccamaster to get silky smooth 😎
Now, on to the - oh my lord this was GOOD! Hard to describe but it's sort of spiced and sweet and decadent but also not overly indulgent. So so good.
☘️Shanky's Whip Irish Coffee☘️
30ml Shanky's Whip
1tsp Brown Sugar
60ml Filter Coffee
30ml Double Cream
Lightly warm the cream then aerate by whipping in a shaker. Meanwhile, pour Shanky's Whip, sugar and hot coffee into a warmed glass and stir. Float the cream over the top of a bar spoon and drink up!
