One of Andy Burnham's first commitments as new Prime Minister has been a "circuit breaker" for Britain, alongside promises to support small businesses by reforming business rates, improving access to public procurement opportunities, and creating long-term economic stability. He's also spoken about making the UK a more pro-business environment and backing British firms.

As a platform built specifically for new business owners, we're always interested in policies that could make life easier for entrepreneurs and SMEs.

With over 5.7 million SMEs making up the backbone of the UK economy, many business owners will be hoping these pledges translate into real action over the coming months.

We'll certainly be watching with interest.
