1947 London 1947 London is a stylish Pan Indian cuisine restaurant, based in Fitzrovia. It was born out of the desire to bring to London an authentic taste of India in all its glory, reminiscent of recipes that evolved out of the movement of peoples and cultures during the 1947 partition.

Its Executive Chef is Chef Satyabrat Jena - whose experience stretches from India’s top hotels, as well as Michelin-starred restaurants in Central London. The Pan Indian cuisine which he specialises in, emerged in the Tangra Chinatown of old Calcutta (now Kolkata).

The restaurant has live music every Thursday-Saturday, a floral wall (which is a great background for social media photos), statement pieces of interior design and perfectly judged lighting.

We were saddened to hear the news about the passing away of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen Elizabeth 2 Hotel (QE2) The QE2 Dubai is a ship and floating hotel, and was named in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is now moored in Dubai.

It is a historic gem and the only floating hotel in Dubai. It features 447 distinctive rooms and suites.

It currently has a commemoration on Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which is on until Monday 19th September.

Fancy a slice of Australia in London? Head to Soho and find the recently opened Milk Beach Milk Beach - an Australian restaurant and bar.

As soon as you walk through the door you’ll be taken away from the bustle of central London to a fun and relaxed destination on the coastline of Sydney, Australia. From the palladiana stone floor inspired by rocks along the beach, to the tall Australian foxtail palms. Think high ceilings, terrazzo floors, sandy walls and a beautiful enclosed courtyard.

The restaurant became a reality thanks to the interior design studio A-nrd A-nrd, and the design studio CO:DE Studios - who looked after the technical architecture part, and not the design.

Dog friendly! Forty Dean Street Forty Dean Street is a dog friendly and family run Italian restaurant and bar, based in Soho. It has been running for more than 17 years and is dedicated to providing incredible food at incredible prices.

The set menu boasts a variety of sensational dishes - built around fresh, seasonal produce and has customers coming back on a daily basis. The à la carte menu is a favourite with regulars, the media crowd and tourists.

Sucre is a story of immigration. A conversation of Latin American and European influences - bouncing off the walls of a 310 year old former concert hall in London’s Great Marlborough Street.

Open fire cooking cranks the volume on seasonal ingredients. The menu tells the story of Chef Fernando Trocca’s immigrant background and the European adventurers who crossed the Atlantic to make their home in his native Argentina.

The wine list makes the same trip. Bottling the journey from Old World to New, made by the vines and makers who poured into the land, bringing their secrets with them.

The restaurant is a concept by ADDMIND ADDMIND.

Sam’s Riverside is located right on the river, next to Hammersmith Bridge. It has some of the best river views in London!

As well as dining in the restaurant, Sam’s Riverside also has bar counter dining, a covered outside terrace and a private dining room for up to 18 people.

The menu is Modern British, with a focus on sourcing the very best produce from around the UK. Sam’s Riverside is very passionate about working with all of their small artisan suppliers. The wines that are served have all been handpicked by Sam and many are from wineries that Sam has visited and have become personal friends.

Sam’s Riverside work with two charities. The Charlie Waller Trust Charlie Waller Trust (which is about mental health) and the Hammersmith Community Gardens Association (which is a local environmental charity).

There is also a shop extension of Sam’s Riverside - Sam’s Larder , located on Crisp Road, behind the restaurant. Think cheeses from Neal’s Yard, bread, pastries, biscuits & savouries from Sally Clarke and Sciascia Story Bakeries , and British charcuterie from Cobble Lane Cobble Lane Cured. There are also hundreds of lines from artisan producers, as well as wines from the Sam’s Riverside wine list. The shop gets deliveries direct from New Covent Garden (fruit & vegetables and flowers & plants New Covent Garden Market). Alongside this, Head Chef Ashley Tinoco creates fabulous pies for the freezer - fish pie, chicken bacon & tarragon pie, goan fish curry & chicken curry, winter crumbles and their ice cream & sorbets. A new Middle Eastern restaurant is opening on Wednesday 17th August 2022 in Fitzrovia - The Tent (at the end of the universe) , which had opened as members’ club 17 Little Portland Street earlier this year.

Now, later this month, the public will be able to try out the food as the restaurant will be open to non-members.

The dining room takes inspiration from a tent (hence the name) and includes dim lighting, canvas ceiling awnings, star-lit installations and space for 34 covers. There will be a seated DJ playing music during each dinner service and live music ranging from Brazilian jazz to experimental, on Wednesdays.

In terms of the food, you can expect dishes like suckling lamb shish, dairy cow rib with ras el hanout, carabineros prawns with baharat spices, grilled onions with sumac and pomegranate molasses, hummus with chilli oil and burnt lime, tzatziki with wakame oil, beetroot and labneh borani, and taramasalata with onion ash.

That’s accompanied by an eclectic drinks list that includes everything from European wines and Japanese whiskies to coconut bourbon cocktails and herbal infusions.

The restaurant is by Chef John Javier .pesto, who made a name for himself with his take on Chinese food at MASTER in Sydney and Happy Paradise Happy Paradise in Hong Kong.
