It's high summer, "I'm sure my fridge freezer is not working properly".
Unfortunately when the ambient temperatures rise above 30 degrees your fridge and freezer will struggle to work correctly. What should you be doing?
Make sure you your fridge and freezer is full. If you don't have enough food, then fill the shelves with polystyrene boxes. This will stop you using too much electricity.
If you are able to bring your fridge freezer forward so you can get a fan behind. Place the fan pointing at the compressor at the bottom. This will help to divert the hot air rise up and away from the compressor. In the most severe case the warm ambient temperatures will trigger an ice blockage inside the freezer. When this happens the only solution is to empty the whole machine. Leave the doors open, and turn the power off for 24 hours. You might have to loose the food if you can't find additional space in another fridge freezer.
At 24 hours shut the doors and restart the machine. If it works correctly after a few hours this should keep you going until the ambient temperatures comes down.
