Reposting this from LSE Generate! The co-founders have just completed the Generate Accelerator Programme. Shout out to Raneem, who pitched ReLinkt before an in-person crowd of around 200 people, as well as later to an online crowd of about 150 people. We have learned so much from the organizers (especially Lisa, Ruben, and Tim), benefited tremendously from the guidance of the GAP workshops and experts, and actually built new business due to our participation! Another shout out to Ivo for his mentoring, which we cherish. Participating in the GAP has brought the co-founders into new social networks and has imparted true business wherewithal. Stay tuned for ReLinkt’s next steps.

The 16th January is World Religion Day, a Baha’i observance initiated in 1950 that aims to highlight the unifying aspects of world religions, their overlapping histories and spiritual principles. From today, ReLinkt is launching a new social media campaign that will draw upon varied holidays and holy days. ReLinkt believes in interfaith harmony, and we wish to emphasize the importance of cross-cultural exchange in the language learning process. For some learners, moreover, Arabic learning is a stepping stone toward greater devotion such as Hajj (the pilgrimage to Mecca). Here’s to the launch of ReLinkt’s inclusive campaign!

As an instructor teaching out of Istanbul, you will be an integral member of our growing team of contractors. You will take responsibility for building curricula and teaching conversational Arabic to students in the UK. There is no teaching background required for this role. Please simply submit a resume of professional experiences and highlight your willingness to train in teaching. A Bachelor’s degree is a big plus for this job, as you will need to teach Arabic conversation at a variety of levels, and to differing students and professionals.

Today is Windrush Day, the day we celebrate the contributions of the Afro-Caribbean people who arrived in the UK by ship after WWII. These are the people who became leaders in the healthcare, steel and iron, and service industries, among other important industries. Their economic contributions are apparent and must be acknowledged! From the moment these migrants stepped ashore, they were at a housing and employment disadvantage, but they persevered and created the NHS as we know it, as one example. ReLinkt celebrates Windrush Day, and links this day of acknowledgement to the causes of migrants worldwide.

Still remember this windy day in the Bay Area from September 2019! Standing up straight was a struggle due to wall-like gusts. Building a startup is also kind of like facing the wind. Hoping to catch up with these fellow entrepreneurs soon, even if it’s socially distanced.

Around this time last year, ReLinkt, then by a different name, was traveling around the Bay Area with the LSE Generate Trek. Networking with leaders in tech pushed the fledgling ReLinkt to reconsider its market positioning. Now the wiser, ReLinkt is primarily B2B, with a strong preference toward early uptake from the manufacturing industry. That said, Beta users will primarily herald from academic and student communities. Sign up early for your discounted lessons!
