I have coached more than 200 executives in the past 5 years, and I find these following 'Big Questions' come up again and again:
- how I can work on my brand to get ahead at work, in my career?
- where do I fit in an organisation undergoing significant change?
- how do I deal with a hostile peer, subordinate, senior colleague or boss?
- what do I really want out of my career, job and where should I be headed?
At the core of all these questions is this notion of how work impacts our identity, our sense of self-worth, meaning, value...and values!
And yes, you will not find someone, who agrees more with you that work is not - and should never be - the single most important thing in your life...but let's face it: it is super important:
- we spend on average 30-60% of our weeks working, and at least 66% of our years on Earth doing it
- and so the relationships we build at work, the recognition we seek, the meaning, the value, the contribution...the money 💰💰💰...are all hugely significant, and contribute massively to:
- ...our sense of Psychological Safety!
And (depressingly or not) a lot of our sense of psychological safety is derived from our work.
So, where are you on this Journey? And how might some of the above questions be relevant to you?
You can leave comments here or if you'd like to find out more about how my coaching program can help you, just message me directly.
All best!
