Like father, like son!

We’re delighted to welcome Sean to the team as one of our new Apprentice Engineers!

It’s especially lovely to see Sean joining us and following in the footsteps of his dad, Dan, one of our managers. Having grown up seeing Dan’s career and experience within the industry, Sean is now starting out on his own journey with us.

Sean will be completing his engineering apprenticeship through Obsequios Evolve Academy, and we’re looking forward to supporting him as he learns, develops his skills and builds a career of his own.

We’re sure it will be a very proud moment for Dan to see his son starting out in the same industry and we’re delighted to have them both as part of the team.

Welcome, Sean! We’re excited to see where your journey takes you!

Meet our PLP service team 💙

We wanted to take a moment to shine a spotlight on the people who are the friendly voices at the end of the phone and behind the emails!

Our fantastic Service Team: Amy, our Service Manager, and Sarah and Lissy, our Service Coordinators.

Every day, they’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure our customers and clients receive the support they need.

From handling queries and resolving issues, to booking works at sites, coordinating engineers’ schedules, keeping customers updated, making sure jobs keep moving from start to finish, and more!

For our clients of primarily property managers, we know how important it is to have a service team who are responsive, organised and approachable.

Whether it’s a routine job that needs booking in or an unexpected issue that needs sorting quickly, Amy, Sarah and Lissy are there to help keep everything on track.

Their attention to detail, problem solving and commitment to looking after our customers makes a huge difference every single day and we’re incredibly proud to have them as part of our team!

A warm welcome to Lissy Bennett!

Lissy joined us recently as our new Service Coordinator, and she’s become a wonderful asset to the team!

From day one, she’s been eager to learn, quick to pick things up and genuinely interested in understanding not just her role, but the fire safety industry. She’s taken on the challenge of coordinating our engineers and looking after our customers with confidence, efficiency and a great deal of common sense.

For us, having someone friendly and professional on the end of the phone is incredibly important, and Lissy brings exactly that. She’s approachable, helpful and always happy to go the extra mile, while also being confident in her approach.

A big part of Lissy’s journey so far has been the guidance and support she’s received from Amy, our Service Manager, and Sarah, our fellow Service Coordinator. They’ve helped her get to grips with our processes, our customers, our engineers and everything that comes with working in a busy service environment.

Lissy has taken it all in her stride. What’s really stood out is how quickly she’s become part of the team. She works brilliantly with everyone, gets stuck in, gets the job done and brings a positive attitude with her every day.

She’s already proving to be a real asset to the business, and we’re excited to see how she continues to develop and grow within the team.

Great to have you with us, Lissy! 👏

Today we’re shining a light on Charlie, one of PLP Fire Protection’s Apprentice Engineers and a valued member of our team!

Charlie is eager, keen to learn, and always willing to get involved. He’s a great listener and has been taking in a huge amount of information as he continues to develop his knowledge and skills.

He’s progressing well and has already gained experience working across a variety of systems. Charlie is becoming a valuable support to our engineers, assisting with fault finding, installations, and maintenance while continuing to build his technical understanding.

His positive attitude, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm to get stuck in make him a great addition to the team. We’re really pleased with the progress he’s making and look forward to seeing him continue to develop throughout his apprenticeship.

Keep up the great work, Charlie! 💙

Smoke ventilation systems are there for a very specific reason: to help control smoke and protect escape routes during a fire.

In residential buildings, smoke can quickly make communal corridors and stairways difficult or potentially impossible to use safely.

A correctly designed and functioning smoke ventilation system can help remove smoke from these areas, helping to maintain safer escape routes and assist firefighters in dealing with an incident.

But having a smoke vent installed isn't enough.

The system needs to perform as it was designed.

Where a smoke ventilation system has been identified as defective, non-compliant or unable to perform its intended function, the appropriate remedial action should be assessed, prioritised and completed without unnecessary delay.

Because the system doesn't get to choose when it is needed.

There's no better feedback than knowing your team makes customers feel comfortable in their own home.

We received this wonderful message following a recent visit:

"I wanted to say how professional, kind and respectful your engineers are. We've had many visit over the years to service the vent system at our house and every single one has been excellent. It makes a huge difference and takes the worry out of who is coming to our home."

This feedback reflects the consistent professionalism, respect and care our team brings to every visit!

A special shoutout to Nathan, who was the engineer on site 👏
