Do you really need a couple's therapist?
My name is Eveline Cardol. I am a couple's therapist.
Often, I meet married couples in my office who think they need professional help. However, sometimes, they might not actually need it.
I choose not to accept payment if their issues can be resolved with the help of my book.
If you're considering couple's therapy as the sole solution, allow me to share some insights from my professional experience.
Firstly, many therapists in this field might not fully engage with your unique story. Instead, they tend to match your situation with familiar patterns from past cases. Consequently, they offer generic advice that may not specifically address your needs. This method can prove ineffective because it lacks personalization.
Secondly, while identifying problems and solutions is our duty, some therapists may prioritize their financial gain over your therapeutic progress. This means they might extend the therapy sessions longer than necessary.
As a therapist who advocates for a different approach, I believe most couples do not need therapy. Often, just a few insightful strategies are needed. These strategies can be challenging to figure out on your own but are crucial for restoring harmony in your relationship.
This conviction led me to write a book in 2021, which presents 12 such strategies. This book has been a bestseller for three consecutive years. It provides guidance for couples, whether married, engaged, or cohabiting, aiming to improve their relationship dynamics.
However, this eBook might not be for everyone. That's why I have designed a 12-question quiz. This quiz will help ensure that the eBook will indeed benefit your relationship.
