Christmas in January

I made these as Christmas ornaments. And then my phone got stolen. I am very pleased to still have some of the photos, though I seem to have lost a lot too.

So these could be for Christmas, or just general ornaments. Who doesnt need some extra sparkle in cold, dark January.

I'll be posting some more forgotten treasures soon.

Biding

And finally...

'Biding' is finished.

Started in January, as I was biding my time to be able to leave a job that was making me unwell and unappreciated.

Waiting for a different stage of visa life where I would be more free and able to be more independent.

I was overwhelmed burnt-out, dysregulated and my nervous system was in very intense shut down. But I had to keep showing up at work.

I wasn't able to show up creatively even though I knew it would be good for my mental health. I was in survival mode and creativity was not my priority.

So I took me a long time to complete this. I had to do a lot of work on myself and fight battles. I had to be open and find a way for creativity to come back to me in a calmer state.

Embracing my creativity has been part of my healing.

All the pretty things, hidden under the waves and folds, peaking out to crest the waves and have their moment to shine.

A metaphor in the details, bringing the pretty parts of myself out to the light, to crest the waves, to bloom and grow.
