For new fashion brands, ecommerce is the fastest path to success. Opening a brick and mortar store these days is incredibly expensive, not to mention risky if you need to take on a long-term lease with no guarantee of future cashflow. Plus you'll want somewhere with good footfall, increasing rental costs further.

Back to ecom - you'll need to get yourself a web domain and a website (we recommend Shopify). Brand up your store, add your products, prep your store for sales (configure shipping, pricing, offers, stock levels, policies, apps etc) and then you can switch on your marketing.

Everyone likes to hate on Amazon for its business practices, but there's no denying their enormous success. The big takeaway for us? Their mantra of obsession with their customers. The customer experience, customer demographics, customer feedback, customer preferences.

If you want to succeed in fashion then you need to learn from this and understand your own customers down to every little detail. Make products your customers will love, create a brand they will be drawn to and LISTEN to their feedback. This is the path to business success.
