Junior banking roles are gruelling and leave you little time to protect your health. Many juniors note a lack of sleep and deterioration of their health in the role. Sophia Mullins, a former junior banker with Barclays, now runs health consultancy Wall Street Wellness, and has been hosting an AMA on our new forum The Bubble providing advice on how to deal with the extreme demands of the role.

Physical fitness can be hard to maintain and it can be hard to carve out time for consistent movement, but Mullins said one way you can incorporate consistent movement is by making a habit of walking to work. She said she lived an hour from the office while in banking, and that walk "usually ended up being [her] favourite hour of the week."

This is a bit more difficult when you live too close to the office. Many offices have in-office gyms but if you work at somewhere like JPMorgan, you might have to pay to use the facilities.
