Unpacking recently and encountered this one. Everyone I've ever shown it to says it looks like a heart or something but she's just a lump of rose quartz that's a little gnarly, she can't help it 💔 So I looked up why but my brains do this and turns out there's a proper phenomena! So thought I'd share!

Hadn't been to the The Etches Collection (The Etches Collection) in AGES and paid it first visit since the Sea Rex and Big Sara have been put in. Got to say it is looking absolutely awesome in there now and really well worth a revisit if you haven't been in a few years! Tickets last for a revisit within the year and a nice cafe opposite, just saying.... 👀

Came across this gorgeous stone building in Rye this week. Was there for my sister's wedding but got distracted when I popped into town the next day 👀
Honeycomb weathering occurs mainly due to salt weathering, where salty water soaks into the gaps of rocks. When the water evaporates, expanding salt crystals wedge apart individual mineral grains, physically dislodging them and leaving behind small cavities. It's really pretty.... But not sure how good it is for the building!!!

Impromptu trip to Lyme Regis Fossil Fest today! Wasn't originally going to go but got the gang together (aka .pheobe et al) and went for a wander. Was really nice to catch up with old friends, meet some YouTube subscribers and put some names to faces (oh hey !) First time I've been to the festival in years to just be able to enjoy it rather than feeling like I have to work a stand etc which was lovely. Absolutely gorgeous weather too! For anyone at a loss on what to do tomorrow I can highly recommend!

This may be the coolest I will ever look so please can we take a moment. Double denim ft sea carved basalt complete with huge vesicles from gasses escaping the lava, vein infills and nice weathering going on. 🌋

Been a great holiday looking at volcanics but looking forward to being back to sedimentary rocks, which are very much my comfort zone 😅

No filters/edits, it's truly that gorgeous. Have been really enjoying trying to film fish on my DJI action cam... Emphasis on try. Filming stationary rocks is far easier. Maybe a short reel to come when I can get them on screen for more than 3 seconds 🤣🤣🤣

A walk in a strange landscape today of black lava rocks, no shade, extinct volcanoes on the skyline and red succulents (Mesembryanthemum nodiflorum, if you're interested!).

A truly fascinating place in ways I didn't expect... And that red plant in amongst the black rocks is strange yet beautiful.

This is the north shore of Fuerteventura and the volcanic history is pretty incredible! More to follow for sure!

Spotted the coolest thing in the clubhouse today! Gorgeous views and then topped off with fossils.... New favourite course?!
