Did you hear that Kier Starmer appointed 17 women to the new shadow cabinet yesterday, which means it’s 53% female? ♀️
Whatever your politics, this is such great news. Women should make up half of the seats in ever cabinet, board, team.... because women make up 51% of the UK. ♀️
It made me think of this quote from one of the best books I’ve read in the past year ’Invisible Women: exposing data bias in a world designed for men’ by Caroline Criado Perez ( )

A record number female MPs might have been elected in 2019, and 51% of Labour seats now have female owners, but women only represent 34% of parliament overall, so to see gender balance in the opposition team responsible for holding Government to account is wonderful.
