As a small business owner, I get it. You’re needed in every part of your business every single day. Marketing, sales, client work, admin… the list never ends.

But here’s the truth about PR for small businesses: getting featured in the press isn’t about sending hundreds of emails or spending hours pitching journalists.

It’s about knowing:
✨ what journalists are actually looking for
✨ how to pitch your business properly
✨ and how to use the limited time you do have strategically

Inside the Female Founders PR Academy, we teach female entrepreneurs and business owners how to create PR pitches that resonate with journalists and actually get media coverage — without wasting hours every week.

Because smart PR > constant hustle.

If you want to learn how to get featured in the press, grow your brand visibility, and attract more opportunities through PR…

Comment “FOUNDER” below and I’ll send you my FREE PR Masterclass 💌

Running a business as a female founder often feels like one long game of trade-offs.

Because behind every polished brand online is usually a woman trying to juggle about 47 different jobs at once. Social media, PR, sales, content, customers, logistics, family life, and somehow still attempting to get eight hours sleep and fit in a couch to 5k 😵‍💫

Genuinely, I’m not sure there even is a right answer to this one!

So tell me… which 3 are going?

And while we’re on the subject, one thing I see so many founders struggling with is trying to do everything themselves, especially when it comes to visibility and PR.

If getting your brand featured in the press, building awareness and finally feeling more confident talking about your business is something you want support with, my Female Founders PR Academy is designed to help you do exactly that.

You’ve no doubt seen everywhere lately, and yes, the headlines are divisive.

But this is the bit I always want founders to understand… it’s not accidental. It’s working.

Headlines aren’t there to be liked, they’re there to be clicked. The media is a business, and their job is to get attention, start conversations and keep people reading. A strong opinion will always travel further than a safe one, even if it splits the room a little.

This is where I see so many founders hold themselves back. They try to say the “right” thing, soften their message or make sure it lands well with everyone. But that’s not what gets you featured. That’s what keeps you invisible.

The headline is just the hook, it’s not the whole story. It’s the thing that gets someone to stop, pay attention and click through. The depth, the nuance, the full picture… that comes afterwards.

And when you get that balance right, you’re not pushing people away, you’re actually drawing the right people in. The ones who get it, who resonate and who want more.

So if you’ve been playing it safe or wondering why you’re not getting picked up, it might be time to be a little braver with what you’re saying and how you’re saying it.

If you have something to say to the press, or you feel like the media needs to know your brand, our next cohort of the Female Founders PR Academy launches in June and applications are now open.

If you want to be like past students who’ve had their stories told everywhere from the BBC to the Telegraph, comment FOUNDER and I’ll send you the free PR masterclass to get you started.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 but make it PR.

The long awaited sequel to one of my favourite movies of all time is out today! I can’t get to the cinema fast enough.

20 years ago I was in the early stages of my career in PR and there was ALOT of crossover to what I saw in the original movie. Bosses that ruled with fear, endless unpaid overtime, weekly sackings, office humiliation, crying in the toilets. Its the reason I decided to work for myself at the age of 25 and have never gone back. I’m grateful to have learned the hard way how to do the job, how to operate under pressure and exactly what kind of working enviornment I DIDN’T want for my team.

If you see yourself in any of these memes, if you’re just like Andy before the makeover, dying to get featured in the press and you’re ready to remove the guesswork then you need to start with my free PR Masterclass. Its the perfect way to get your head around how PR works and how to get a solid plan in place. Comment FOUNDER and I’ll DM it to you.

✨ NEW CLIENT ✨

We are so excited to be working with RestoreHER

A project that genuinely stopped me in my tracks when I first heard about it.

Founder Lina Perez and I actually connected over DM on Christmas Eve (as you do), and ended up chatting for ages. I remember coming away from that conversation feeling completely inspired and thinking this needs to exist.

As an agency built by working mothers, we know that feeling of coming out of pregnancy and birth and not feeling like yourself.

And yet there’s this huge gap in support. Not in crisis. But not fine either.

That “missing middle” is exactly where RestoreHER shines offering luxury, UK-based postpartum retreats designed to help new mums properly rest, recover and reconnect after birth. Think:

• Overnight nanny support
• Nutritious, chef-prepared meals
• Gentle movement and recovery
• Space to switch off from the outside world
• and a community of women who get it

All built around one very important idea that recovery should be prioritised just as much as pregnancy itself

It’s thoughtful, it’s needed, and it’s been born out of a truly powerful experience that Lina went through after having her second baby.

We will be sharing more on this (and Lina’s story) very soon.

If you’re a journalist and would like to speak to Lina or find out more about RestoreHER, please email Niamh Spence at [email protected].

IN THE SPOTLIGHT ✨

Our client Gemma Schofield, founder of , shares her story with and it’s a brilliant example of scaling in a really strategic, considered way.

What began as frustration in her interior design work turned into a luxury home fragrance brand now known for its statement XXL diffusers and candles. She built a six-figure business in her first year and has since scaled internationally, expanding into markets like the UAE and the US, securing retail partnerships and growing a brand that genuinely translates on a global level.

From getting into US retail within months to launching in Galeries Lafayette Dubai, it’s a brilliant reminder that scaling isn’t about waiting for the perfect moment, it’s about creating it.

If you want to see exactly how she’s done it, definitely go and read the full article.

And if telling your story, or getting your business seen in the press is something you’re ready to take seriously, send us a DM and let’s talk.

Hate having my photo taken so self portrait studio in Notting Hill is a god send! 📸

Just me, a camera, a stool and a clicker (plus tons of fabulous props) … I also had to have the pink backdrop!

We’re so excited to welcome our new client, NIMMISHA

A London-designed, India-made jewellery brand rooted in four generations of craftsmanship, NIMMISHA blends heritage goldsmith techniques with a modern, sculptural feel. Founded by Nimisha Mandaliya, the pieces are inspired by nature, sacred geometry and the idea that jewellery should feel personal, effortless and something you actually want to wear every day.

Think modern heirlooms with real meaning behind them.

Get to the damn point 🙏

Founders too often fall into the trap of writing an essay when they contact the press and with hundreds of emails landing in their inboxes everyday - they haven’t got that kind of time.

So be straight up and say what it is you want before you even pitch the whole idea.

Pitches that take too long end up ignored or deleted.

Do you want to pitch a new launch for their shopping pages? Put forward op-ed for their features section? Suggest a new event for their weekend events round ups? Be clear upfront and help an overwhelmed journo out.
