STORY TIME ✍️ when I first started hosting marketing workshops for Yoga teachers back in 2018, a well-known Teacher shamed me on their Instagram.

They took a screenshot of my face and said what a joke it was that Indaba would let it go ahead, what a joke it was, and that it was tarnishing the spirituality of Yoga.

Thinking back to when I saw it, I was so modified, embarrassed, and questioned whether I should run the workshop at all.

It would’ve been easy not to carry on, but I did it anyway.

(it was so hard to sell tickets, I figured it might actually be good for me - free marketing!)

Now I’m celebrating this being my office, thousands of happy clients (not such a joke hey?), some who fly in from across the globe for , working 3 to 4 days per week, and genuinely in love with what I do still after all these years.

In hindsight, I was just ahead of the curve. Now marketing and business educators for Yoga teachers are everywhere but I really was out there solo back then.

It can be hard putting yourself out there in business. You’re opening yourself up to be judged, or shamed even. But stay focused on your own mission.

Future you will be so glad that you carried on.

It’s a new season which means I’m starting working with new 1:1 clients ✨

This inquiry popped into my inbox while I was watching the eclipse.

Here is the rundown of my onboarding process which has remained almost unchanged in five years! And it’s something that I do get complimented on - it’s the first impression someone’s going have of your way of working so it should be slick.

One of my most productive days was when we got the whiteboards out and did a business reset and planning session. It’s a methodology that I use on my retreats and also with my 1:1 clients. Goal planning in the sunshine - I’m a happy gal. Here’s what we did:

- ‘wouldn’t it be nice if…’ finish the sentence. A brain dump of any cool things you’d love to happen
- goals to hit by end of 2026
- 2027 goals
- what’s been working well
- what’s not been working well

Write the goals down, put them somewhere you can see them every day (I highly recommend a whiteboard)
