Global girls become global changemakers when they are trusted and supported to lead.

This March, I am supporting Global Girl Project’s fundraiser to raise funds for the Global Leadership Initiative across eight countries in the Global Majority.

Donations support girls’ leadership sessions, education grants, and women facilitators delivering change on the ground.

Please donate today!

Making waves and ripples

We are proud to share that an article by Jules Lynch , Founder and CEO of Global Girl Project, was published today in The Guardian
as part of Mediaplanet’s Empowering Women & Girls campaign.

In the article, Rethinking Leadership through a Decolonial Feminist Lens, Jules reflects on an important question. If we are serious about equality for women and girls, we must rethink how leadership, power and knowledge are defined globally.

Too often, global systems position girls and women from the Global Majority as recipients rather than leaders. A decolonial feminist approach challenges this. It centres local knowledge, recognises lived experience as expertise, and calls for a redistribution of power, resources and voice.

This is the approach that guides the work of Global Girl Project.
Through our Global Girl Leadership Initiative, girls explore leadership within their own communities and cultures. They organise conversations, design solutions to issues affecting their lives, and lead community action.
Leadership already exists among girls around the world. What is needed is greater investment and trust in their leadership.

History is being made in Nepal - the country elected its first female Prime Minister!

At Global Girl Project, we know how powerful it is for girls to see women leading their countries because visibility can spark possibility.

That’s why we’re proud to be running our programmes in Nepal, in partnership with Rise Up Foundation Nepal, mobilising girls aged 13-18 to see themselves as leaders and changemakers in their own communities.

Through our Global Girl Leadership Initiative, girls spend three months learning about the power of their voices, exploring global examples of female leadership, designing their own community projects, and gaining the confidence to drive change. Each graduate then joins our lifelong network the Global Graduates Connect and receives a grant to support their continuing education.

As Nepal celebrates this historic first, we celebrate the future leaders rising in classrooms and communities across the country.

Because when girls lead, change follows.
