Meet our speakers for the Executive Circle Private Dinner, that will be hosted in Tokyo on the 11th of March: Kimberly Bolton!

Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Kimberly developed a deep respect and appreciation for the environment early on.

She became interested in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability early on leading her to study Economics and Environmental Sciences at the University of Cape Town and further a Master in Business Sustainability at The University of Sydney.

Everything fell into place when her group won the University’s ‘Inventing the Future Program’, allowing her to create a practical solution for the plastic problem and turn this into a company. Now Co-Founder and CEO at Carapac, Kimberly aims to tackle the plastic problem head on and change the world of packaging with this wonderful product.

Meet our speakers for the Executive Circle Private Dinner, that will be hosted in Tokyo on the 11th of March: Torsten Thiele, Founder of Global Ocean Trust.

Torsten Thiele is an international expert in ocean governance and sustainable blue finance, drawing on over 20 years experience in project and infrastructure finance with leading financial institutions, and a decade of ocean research and practice.

He is Founder of Global Ocean Trust, Strategic Advisor to the IUCN Blue Natural Capital Financing Facility and Senior Advisor to the Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance. Recent publications address high seas finance, climate policy, coastal infrastructure, nature-based solutions and innovative ocean governance. He is member of various advisory committees on ocean topics and an active lecturer and conference speaker.

Torsten Thiele holds degrees from the universities of Cambridge, Bonn and Harvard and is an Honorary Fellow at Plymouth Marine Laboratory, UK.

Meet our speakers for the Executive Circle Private Dinner, that will be hosted in Tokyo on the 11th of March: Janne van Eerten, Global Public Affairs Manager at The Ocean Cleanup,

Janne van Eerten is the Global Public Affairs Manager at The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organization that develops and deploys plastic cleanup technologies, with a mission to rid the world oceans of plastics. The Ocean Cleanup employs a dual strategy: intercepting plastic from polluted rivers before it reaches the ocean and cleaning up legacy plastics in the ocean. The organization has cleanup activities in eight countries with twenty projects worldwide, and have also successfully deployed cleanup technologies in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (North Pacific Ocean).

Janne leads government and institutional engagements, represents The Ocean Cleanup in international policy forums, and leads the organization’s engagement in the UN Global Plastics Treaty negotiations. Janne holds a BSc in Geography and a MA in International Relations and previously worked at the international department of the City of Amsterdam. Passionate about turning global policies into action, Janne works to bridge high-level commitments with real-world impact.

Paige Roepers is the Chief Executive Officer of Ocean Ledger, leading the adoption of outcome-driven solutions for coastal resilience, environmental monitoring, and sustainable development. A marine biologist and seasoned divemaster, she has conducted field research in The Bahamas, Fiji, and Indonesia. She began her career at Barclays Investment Bank in Equity Private Capital Markets, raising growth-stage financing for European startups, before joining Founders Intelligence, a strategy consultancy focused on corporate innovation.
She holds a degree in Biology, specializing in Marine Biology, from the University of St. Andrews.

Edith Nordmann, is a Dutch Attorney at Law, Mediator, and Arbitrator and ascended to the role of Managing Partner at ACG International in 2017. She earned an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree. Her professional journey is further enriched
by her active contributions to international task forces and notable speaking engagements at global platforms such as the B20/G20, IBA and the World Economic Forum in Davos.

In addition to her legal career, Edith actively participates in various board positions.

As the chairperson for Netherland India Chamber of Commerce and Trade (NICCT) Edith is helping build a stronger Netherlands-India corridor. As chairperson for NICCT Edith accompanied PM Rutte and HM King Willem Alexander in Trade Missions to India in 2018 and 2019.
