Since 2008 Fulcrum Maritime Systems Ltd has been an approved supplier of LRIT systems. Today Fulcrum Maritime is approved as an LRIT Testing ASP by over 60 Flag States and provides Vessel Tracking Data Centres for 13 Flags States. In addition to Long Range Identification and Tracking, Fulcrum provide vessel tracking services for fishing and other vessels which the Flag has an obligation or interes

t to monitor. Fulcrum specialise in integrating different tracking solutions into a single Vessel Monitoring Centre to enable the Flag Administration to operate with maximum efficiency and minimum cost overheads. Fulcrum have a commercial tracking system that is available to vessel owners and operators, that enables vessels to be tracked globally and provides key functionality such as historical position reporting, immediate position, alerting and delivery of position reports by email. As well as tracking systems, Fulcrum have a number of other packages designed to facilitate aspects of managing a ship registry, such as the Bespoke Online Seafarer System, which manages the process of receiving applications for seafarer documentation and issuing endorsements and certificates. As with all our solutions, there is a degree of flexibility built in to the system to enable our customer to adapt the system to suit their own business model.

🎯 How the UK Set the Benchmark for Small-Scale Fisheries Monitoring

Modernising the monitoring of thousands of small-scale fishing vessels is a complex challenge. It requires technology adapted to artisanal fleets, operational support in the field and close collaboration with fisheries authorities.

From quayside to offshore.

🌬️ Before environmental data can support critical offshore engineering decisions, every observation system must be rigorously integrated, tested and validated.

This week, the CLS teams were on the quayside in Sète, France, carrying out the final validation of two DeepCLiDAR buoys before their imminent deployment for an offshore wind resource assessment campaign.

⚙️ Preparing a DeepCLiDAR for offshore deployment involves much more than transporting a buoy to sea. Before mobilisation, the teams carry out the final integration, configuration and validation of the system to ensure it is ready for long-term autonomous operation in demanding offshore environments.

LRIT Customer Portal: entering final validation

Following the introduction of the LRIT Customer Portal, our experts are now conducting active end-to-end validation tests to ensure the platform is fully aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.

This final testing phase covers the complete workflow, including:
⚓ Secure ordering of LRIT tests, reflags and CTR reissues (MFA-enabled access)
⚓ Real-time tracking of test ex*****on, including positions received during testing
⚓ Vessel search by IMO number across CLS UK test records
⚓ Automated compliance checks in line with IMO performance standards and SOLAS requirements
⚓ Instant access to historical data, CTR downloads and financial information

As an Application Service Provider (ASP) and LRIT Data Centre operator, we are validating interoperability with Communication Service Providers and ensuring seamless data exchange throughout the testing process.
