🚨 What if your vessel’s position couldn’t be trusted?

In regions like the Arabian Gulf, GNSS interference has become a daily reality.

Jamming, spoofing, and significant position drift are no longer rare events.
➑️ Ships can appear miles away from their actual location.
➑️ AIS data may become inconsistent or misleading.
➑️ Crews may unknowingly rely on corrupted navigation inputs.

When positioning data is compromised, maintaining control becomes critical.

So how do you operate when GNSS can’t be relied on?
Join our upcoming webinar to discover how RockFLEET Assured helps maintain operational control in disrupted environments:
βœ” Reliable positioning, independent of
βœ” Instant alerts for jamming and spoofing events

πŸ›°οΈ In contested and congested maritime environments, reliable GNSS can no longer be taken for granted.

🌍 Across European waters, the North Sea, and key transatlantic routes, GNSS disruption, whether from jamming, spoofing, or spectrum congestion, is becoming a tangible operational risk.

⚠️ For commercial shipping, offshore energy operators and government stakeholders, compromised positioning directly impacts safety, compliance and operational assurance.

When positioning integrity is degraded, operators face:
β€’ Navigational uncertainty on the bridge
β€’ Elevated risk exposure
β€’ Compliance and flag-state scrutiny
β€’ Insurance and liability implications
β€’ Reduced confidence in fleet intelligence data

πŸ‘‰ To address these challenges, CLS, together with our subsidiary , introduces RockFLEET Assured, an Assured Positioning (A-PNT) solution designed to strengthen maritime resilience.

πŸ” RockFLEET Assured, delivers an authenticated position source powered by Iridium PNT, with continuous cross-verification between GNSS and Iridium signals to detect anomalies and support assured navigation workflows

Key capabilities include:
βœ” Assured Positioning (A-PNT) with integrity monitoring
βœ” Early jamming & spoofing detection with real-time bridge alerts
βœ” Clear comparison between assured position and GNSS status
βœ” Configurable reporting & geofencing
βœ” Marine-grade hardware with optional backup battery
βœ” NMEA 2000 compatibility
βœ” Secure integration via IMT and API-first architecture

πŸ“Š Fully integrated into Cloudloop Tracking, the solution provides real-time fleet visibility and structured data exchange through webhooks, MQTT and REST APIs.

πŸ’‘The UK has committed to protecting 30% of land and sea by 2030 and strengthening its network of Marine Protected Areas.

Delivering on these ambitions requires robust scientific evidence, especially for highly mobile species like migratory birds.

🐦 Seabirds and waders that breed or overwinter in the UK travel thousands of miles across the East Atlantic Flyway. Their movements often extend far beyond protected site boundaries and into areas of increasing human activity.

This is where Services plays a vital role. By providing reliable, long-term tracking data, Argos Services help researchers and decision-makers:
πŸ“ Map migration routes and cross-border connectivity
🌊 Identify key foraging areas at sea and assess overlap with offshore infrastructure
πŸ›‘ Detect shifts in behaviour linked to climate change and habitat pressures
πŸ“Š Strengthen evidence for MPA designation, management, and adaptive conservation strategies

From informing marine spatial planning to supporting biodiversity action plans, satellite telemetry transforms movement data into actionable conservation insight.

πŸ‘‰ Protecting migratory birds isn’t only about safeguarding nesting sites, it’s about understanding their full life cycle and the environments they depend on.

At CLS UK, we are proud to support the scientific community and conservation partners working to meet the UK’s biodiversity commitments.

🌐 Yesterday, the CLS team participated in MRST in London, presenting our latest work on AI & Big Data for Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA).

🎀 The session was delivered by Dr. Vincent Kerbaol, Maritime Innovation & Security Lead at CLS.

As maritime operational environments become increasingly dense and contested, effective MDA requires the ability to process and correlate massive volumes of heterogeneous data streams in near real time.

During our intervention, we showcased how CLS leverages:
πŸ›°οΈ multi-sensor satellite data (AIS, SAR, optical, RF)
πŸ“‘ integrated maritime intelligence layers (coastal radar, VMS, contextual databases)
πŸ€– AI-based behavioural analytics for vessel pattern-of-life modelling
βš™οΈ anomaly detection frameworks supporting automated risk scoring and alerting

We also discussed how these technologies enable advanced operational use cases such as the detection of non-cooperative vessels (β€œdark targets”), the monitoring of illicit trafficking and IUU fishing, maritime pollution surveillance and spill attribution, as well as the protection of critical offshore infrastructures.

Our approach relies on scalable data fusion architectures and machine learning pipelines designed to transform raw observation data into actionable maritime intelligence.

Many thanks to the Maritime Reconnaissance & Surveillance Technology Conference and SAE Media Group Defence for the organization and for the high-quality technical exchanges with the community.
