I was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph this house in Cathedral Close Salisbury.
Having previously met the owner, George Apter some years back when I photographed his house in Little Venice I knew I could expect something special when I arrived in Salisbury last Autumn.
It has always interested me how some houses and people have interconnections for me; George Apter’s Maida Vale house was bought by Michael Flatley.
Previously I had been to Ireland to photograph a wonderful house; Castle Hyde in Fermoy, also owned by Michael Flatley. I then returned to Maida Vale to photograph Park Place Villas when Michael was living there

Charles II stayed here to escape the Great Plague and the composer Handel was a frequent visitor. Now the magnificent Malmesbury House is on the open market for the first time in 600 years
