What do photographs record of the land?

In Between Edges brings together Aisling Edwards’ Mark Time, Epynt 85 Mlynedd and Dafna Talmor’s Constructed Landscapes.

Through experimental approaches, both artists explore in/visible processes, memory, and what lies on the other side of a boundary.

For Edwards, Epynt — an upland plateau in mid-Wales and site of the Sennybridge Training Area became a place to explore how land is perceived militarily, ecologically and politically.

Talmor works with her own landscape archive, cutting negatives to remove recognisable human-made elements and draw attention to marks in the land that are not visible, but remain present.

In Between Edges reflects the geographical spaces both artists occupy, creating new meanings inside and outside the frame.
