Hey guys, so I created ABI MEI to help women improve their mental health as well as build their self esteem and self worth. Although as God would have it, a lot of things (positive) have been happening and I am taking this time to improve on ABI MEI as well as myself!

πŸ’œ Bringing this to mental health, e.g. if you suffer from panic attacks, anxiety etc and you have never done anything different to address it or manage it more then likely it will come back...especially if you don't know your triggers or can't avoid your triggers

πŸ’œ I have always been a believer that you need to do something "different" to tackle new challenges. It can be overwhelming because it's new but if you aren't willing to find a way to manage it, it will be difficult to go forward with life.

πŸ’œ so try something different... counselling, journaling, meditation... and see the difference it can make. But if you do the same thing e.g. nothing you will get the same results

πŸ’œ On my mental health and self esteen journey, I have learnt to focus on me, have the courage to enjoy life... So when I want to go somewhere, if I'm alone, it's okay cause I want to enjoy that experience and won't let the fact no one is with me stop me
πŸ’œ I take myself out on dates, to restaurants, cinema, travel alone and just enjoy!
πŸ’œ My solo trip to the cinema I hear a saying I love: "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take"... So how would you know if something doesn't work unless you take the risk? How do you know meditation, counselling, medication, going to that empowering event u been eyeing... a lot of things that may have that stigma associated with it won't work? You won't know until you take your shot!

πŸ’œ TIPS ON CLAIMING YOUR PEACE .. if you find yourself in a situation you feel you will go off:
1. Take a deep breath,and hold for a few seconds. This helps slow your heart beat which is probably going at 1million miles an hour.
2. If it doesn't help, tell the person you need some time walk away and talk when you have calmed down
3. Take what the person is saying and don't add or assume or jump to conclusions ... usually we are angry at what we *think* the person is trying to say rather than listening to what they are saying.

πŸ’œ When someone gets u pi**ed off, u give them ammunition and control of you. You give them that power... you may not realise, cause your feelings can be pretty instant.
πŸ’œ Sometimes ppl want to get angry because they get joy from it but there are people who don't mean to get you angry... so u gotta really understand that person and not just assume they are always trying to get u mad on purpose.
πŸ’œ Also ask yourself why when this person talks or says certain things, why does that trigger u off? Especially if it wasn't their intention? Did they hit a nerve, did they say something you believe but have been afraid to admit?
πŸ’œ It can be hard to keep a cool head all the time, but don't let anyone take your joy! Let's learn to claim it backπŸ’ͺ🏾

πŸ’œ Sometimes we are quick to distract ourselves form the pain or sadness we feel with temporary "fixes" like partying, drinking, eating etc... But at the end of the day, we still feel the same.

πŸ’œ This quote is so profound because I always say to anyone if you have something you want to change about yourself e.g. you want to be confident, build self esteem, not get angry easily, be happy... you have to put in work.
πŸ’œ You have to be willing to face those issues head on. You have to be willing to learn about yourself and understand why you are like that then take the steps to change it.
πŸ’œ A lot of people say they want to change but don't want to put in the work or are scared... but you need to face your fears to see the beauty on the other side.
