We are pleased to announce that , Founder and CEO, has been appointed an for the . 📣✨

The National Trust appoints advisors to support the implementation of their national strategy and act as ambassadors. The advisors provide expertise and additional insights that contribute to the Trust’s decision making.

Cultural heritage is a major driver of both regional and international tourism, and Futurecity have long been advocates for the preservation and celebration of heritage. From celebrating the maritime engineering history at Belfast’s Maritime Mile to new cultural partnerships with heritage groups and museums in the City of London, cultural heritage - both the tangible and intangible - has been core to our work.

Our placemaking work also seeks to connect people to the natural world around us - from the new country park at Great Kneighton featuring a bespoke public art programme, to the initial vision for an elevated running track around Greenwich Peninsula along the River Thames, now being delivered as The Tide.

Mark is looking forward to working with the advisor board to explore new placemaking opportunities at National Trust assets to unlock and activate our historic and natural spaces.

Today's launch of Clare Twomey's 'Anatomy of Time' marks Futurecity's 130th public artwork project.

This monumental artwork by artist and commissioned by for 65 Davies Street is based on Mayfair’s local ancient plants and water ways.

This vast yet gentle composition of the local botanical narratives is indented into the façade of the building creating an artwork that is embedded into the building and flows out of its terracotta façade.

Speaking at today's artwork launch event, Clare remarked 'The leaves are important, they are the heartbeat, the constant...flowers come go, leaves are what sustains us through the seasons, and a sense of use beyond immediate beauty'.

The commission was developed in collaboration with

Artist Clare Twomey celebrates Mayfair’s natural history with new public artwork at 65 Davies Street

has created a new public artwork, ‘Anatomy of Time’, commissioned by and curated by Futurecity, that transforms the Bond Street West Elizabeth Line station. 65 Davies has been designed by .

Taking inspiration from the Mayfair’s natural history and the plants that once thrived in the area, Twomey has created a new monumental sculpture on the façade of 65 Davies Street.

Its location, embedded in the terracotta louvres façade, is directly above the former location of the River Tyburn. Twomey took inspiration from William Curtis’s book The Botanical City, selecting five plants whose leaves travel across the building’s surface, following the direction of the lost river.

The artwork was launched at a private event today with a panel discussion between Clare Twomey and Jennifer Higgie. The launch of the artwork was accompanied by a set of special edition ‘grow your own artwork’ seed packets, an invitation to local residents and neighbours to cultivate each of the five plants in the artwork: Gypsy Rose, Ivy, Periwinkle, Soapwort and Wild Clary.

This week, Senior Curator will be attending .ofc.

Since 2003, LOOP Fair has been the first in its field exclusively dedicated to the discovery, promotion and acquisition of contemporary video art works.

LOOP Fair strives to re-examine traditional art fair models and methods of presentation by taking into account both the changing attitudes of viewing and interacting with art, and the particularities of moving image practices.

LOOP offers a unique viewing experience by presenting each film project in a room of the Almanac Barcelona hotel, creating a setting that both focuses on the artists’ work and transforms the Hotel into an intimate and fully immersive space dedicated to artists films.

LOOP Fair provides a platform for exchange of critical ideas within the art world and fosters collaboration between artists, galleries, collectors, and moving image professionals.

At a time when Futurecity is focusing on digital and moving image approaches for clients across the City of London LOOP provides a platform to engage in the latest curatorial research and presentations from some of the most interesting artists working in the field.

Are you attending? Let us know in the comments.
