My plan for the day? Find a few minutes to be BORED!
That’s when the good thinking happens. BOREDOM gives rise to daydreaming, the gateway to our subconscious. It’s an opportunity for deep thinking.
It’s going to be uncomfortable. I know this because when my husband leaves the room for a minute and puts the T.V on pause I reach for my phone: ‘must be entertained!!!’ my mind screams.
Nope. It’s this constant external entertainment that’s blocking our own creativity. EMBRACE BOREDOM!
Thoughts?

BEND OR BREAK! Whatever we do in our professional lives, above all else, our success is dependent on our resilience. Being innovative, creative, analytical, strategic, entrepreneurial? Brilliant.
Having business acumen, sterling professional knowledge and know-how? Awesome.
Great interpersonal skills? Highly important. But even if all these are in place, sometimes things just don’t go to plan. Sometimes the reality doesn’t match the vision. We experience rejection. Fail. And then we wobble.
RESILIENCE - our ability to experience adversity, adapt and thrive in the face of it - is vital to our success, growth and well-being. The good news is, that more than 50 years of scientific research into resilience has taught us that it can be enhanced. We can learn to respond and think in more resilient ways. We can learn to Bend and not Break.

Not feeling very powerful, confident or competent enough? I'm a great believer in 'fake it till you become it' and this talk tells you why it works and s very easy technique to try out.

Body language affects how others see us, but it may also change how we see ourselves. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how "power posing" -- standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don't feel confident -- can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an i...

We're often told to get clear and focused on 'where we want to get to'- it's a useful and energising perspective. This moving little film pulls us away from the forward focused bias and brings us back to another fabulous perspective- NOW!
Tell me what you think of it.

A film I made last night based on my favourite quotes from Alan Watts about how the way of looking at your life as a journey can be the most destructive way....

Human beings punctuate the passing of time, marking the hours, days, weeks, months and years. As we near the end of 2016 many of us will start asking: what was last year like? What did I achieve? Then we turn our attention forward and ask: what will the next year hold? For some, this will bring about a closer look at the hero/heroine of our story and we might set about planning a ‘madonna-esque reinvention (sans the cone bra!) of ‘a new me’: from improved posture or fitness to new behaviours/career/skills better habits or a brighter outlook on life.

Amongst all creatures, we’re uniquely capable of imagining a different self and uniquely capable of realising that vision. But not all of our self-improvement designs come to fruition... Failed attempts at change are often blamed on lack of willpower. But though determination is important, it’s not the only factor necessary to bringing about change. So what else can contribute to you realising your vision of a 'new you' in 2017?
You can view this as a rhetorical question to stimulate your thinking or share your thoughts and experience (PLEASE DO! it'll be useful to others)
You may think this is premature - we're only at the end of October after all. However, if the stores are displaying Christmas decorations, and you've mentally started that end of year count down, those new year resolutions are just around the corner. Don't you think the changes you want to bring about in your life and person deserve at least as much attention as the Christmas shopping?

Great read - bound to get you thinking! you are probably not 'pure' growth or fixed mindset, but a bit of a mix. When you are feeling stuck or afraid, it is so helpful to ask: 'am I being fixed mindset about this?'

How to fine-tune the internal monologue that scores every aspect of our lives, from leadership to love.

I am so moved by this TED talk that I barely know how to express it's full impact on me (ironically, considering the content of this talk). Amongst other things, it raises high, so high, the value of of human-connectedness.

Imagine being unable to say, "I am hungry," "I am in pain," "thank you," or "I love you,” -- losing your ability to communicate, being trapped inside your body, surrounded by people yet utterly alone. For 13 long years, that was Martin Pistorius’s reality. After contracting a brain infection at the…

'The real test is not what you do in a short life span on earth...' This man really is living life with a sense of meaning. Must be great to wake up in the morning and know that you make a difference, eh?! And you really can. What ever you 'do'. A strawberry farmer can change the world. Why not you?
