The Artists' artist jam is back Sunday 25th July, at our residency with a new name (new phone who dis 🤳).

This is a totally free open format event for artists to jam, play, showcase, freestyle and network.

Expect mic-tossing, impromtu performances, open mic opportunities and exclusives that vibe check and remind us just how insctinctive and healing music really is.

If you wish to perform, just show up, sawsed up and ready to go.

Rules of engagement:

1) If the spirit takes you and you wanna add to someones soundscape, get up and share the moment, thats how their created, this event is all about creating impromtu moments.

2)Freestyles are mandetory, that mic will be tossed around the room 😁.

3) This is an event for artists by artists so please respect what each artist brings and engage with them, show them the love and support you wish. 🙌🏿

4) there are no slots, this is a totally open format evening, show up and show out. 😉

5) this event is about building and nurturing our music community, its all about love. 🤎

6) there actually arnt any rules, these are just guildlines so you who wusup.

7) No place for anxiety, this is a safe space for all musicains of all genres and all perfornance experience. 😇

A filmmaker Q&A and a discussion, with an illustrious panel of guest speakers from the world of academia, politics and activism, will follow the screening.

When British-Nigerian poet and activist Femi Nylander discovered Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness, the novel that Barack Obama claims helped him understand why ‘white people are afraid’, he was immediately drawn to understanding this distorted vision of Africa.

Embarking on a spiritual journey to Niger, Femi uncovers the violent legacy of the real-life counterpart to Conrad’s novel, French Captain Paul Voulet, whose genocidal mission in 1898 can still be felt today, through subsequent generations of his victims.

A brutal indictment of colonialism that never shies away from the horrifying terrorism Africans endured under colonial rule, AFRICAN APOCALYPSE is a visually compelling, visceral experience that seeks to understand how our colonial past shapes our present with a passionate conviction that it doesn’t define our future.
