A huge thank you to Pieniek-Jones, Headteacher at Falconbrook Primary School, for connecting me with George from Foster + Partners, and to Chris for delivering the fantastic outdoor tables and chairs for our Kambala visitors, friends, residents and neighbours as well as KCA members to enjoy.

Together with the beautiful planters funded through the Winstanley Neighbourhood Renewal programme, they’ve transformed our outdoor space into a welcoming place where everyone can relax, connect and cool down during this week’s hot weather.

We’re always looking for ways to make this community space even more inviting. If you have any board games, a whiteboard, plants, seeds, compost, soil or solar-powered lights that you no longer need and would like to donate, we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Kambala and help build a stronger, more connected community. 💚

It was a pleasure to film the Belonging in Place event in Chapel Yard, organised by the Wandsworth Town Property Partnership as part of the London Festival of Architecture.

It’s always a win for the community when vacant spaces are transformed into places that bring people together. It was also fantastic to shine a light on the National Opera Studio – an incredible hidden gem tucked away just off the High Street.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making this such a special event.

Talking about k 75th Anniversary in my previous post, I found this little video I edited in 2010 - 2011 when my son was 4 or 5, I was studying my HNC in film and media production at the South Thames College and my son was in nursery in Falconbrook School.

I made this film for a Reed.co.uk film competition.
My son is now 19 and he just finished his first year of University studying Economics. He used to enjoyed going to Falconbrook and he said in the video that he loved his school.

What a fantastic weekend for Kambala! 💃

It was an honour to perform at the Royal Academy of Dance on Sunday as part of Community Dance Day. Our flamenco dancers had an incredible time performing in such a prestigious venue, and we were proud to represent Kambala. It was a wonderful experience that lifted everyone’s spirits and brought our community together.

A huge thank you to Wandsworth Council for funding our flamenco classes this year – your support has made moments like this possible and of course our amazing flamenco teacher Lola Rueda.

If you missed us on Sunday, you can still catch us performing this week at Casa Manolo in Clapham Junction next Thursday 25th of June and again on 2nd of July outside Falconbrook School as part of its 75th anniversary celebrations around 4pm.

We’re also inviting our Winstanley neighbours to visit the Kambala Community Hub from 5–6pm to learn more about what we do and share ideas for the future. From 6–7pm, our flamenco class will perform, and we’ll be enjoying tapas, drinks and time together as a community. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone!

I'll be filming this fantastic free community event as part of the London Festival of Architecture on Saturday 20th June, from 1:30pm to 5:00pm at Chapel Yard, SW18 4HZ, just a one-minute walk from Southside Shopping Centre.

Belonging in Practice is a creative and welcoming gathering that brings together architecture, culture, gardening, and community. Visitors can enjoy a live mural being painted throughout the day, community gardening activities, free opera performances, and even a tour of the National Opera Studio for those curious to explore behind the scenes.

Paradise Garden will also be donating plants and gardening supplies to help local residents brighten up their gardens and balconies.
The event will include a panel discussion with the Wandsworth Town Property Partnership, exploring their work and the evolving story of this unique part of Wandsworth.

Whether you're interested in gardening, architecture, art, music, or simply meeting people from the local community, there's something for everyone.

FlamenChorus at the Southside Shopping Centre as part of The London Borough of Culture "Sing to Thrive" Project last month. Lola is starting a new Flamenco class of "Bulerias" every Thursday from the 9th of April at the Kambala Community Clubroom in Clapham Junction. Free for the residents of the Winstanley Neighbourhood area and Battersea residents.

Being trusted to film and document so many incredible events across the year has been a true privilege — and without a doubt, a highlight of my career. It also gave me the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have my work displayed on the iconic Piccadilly Circus screens — a moment I’ll never forget.

From large-scale productions to community-led moments, every event told its own story. But beyond what was captured on camera, it’s the connections and collaborations that made this experience so special. Working alongside such a passionate team, and with so many talented artists and creatives across Wandsworth, has been genuinely inspiring.

More than anything, this year gave me a sense of belonging. What started as an opportunity became something much deeper — a community, strong relationships, and a team that truly feels like family.
Thank you again for your trust, your support, and for creating something so meaningful for Wandsworth and its creative community. I’m proud to have played a part in capturing it.

Also shout out to Daniel Onyia from chocolate film and Ewan Michael Riley who collaborated with me on the 12th Last Songs / and some of “The Beat Goes On” clips in this video.

This video is just a glimpse — a small selection of moments that could never fully capture the scale and spirit of such an unforgettable year.

What a way to close an unforgettable year as London Borough of Culture ✨

I had the privilege of filming the final event, “The Beat Goes On” — set against the iconic Battersea Power Station — and it was nothing short of electric ⚡️

Filming from the stage and capturing the crowd was a moment I won’t forget. Thousands of people dancing, singing, fully lost in the music… with incredible performances from Basement Jaxx, Romeo & Lisa Maffia ( ), and Sarah Jayne Crust’s Dolly Parton tribute — the energy was unreal 🔥

The entire Power Station came alive.

From theatre (Jellyfish Theatre), circus and stilt walkers (BrainFools), the vibrant Urban Flow parade, to New Orleans jazz from World Heart Beat — every corner was filled with creativity. Choirs, dancers, performers inside and out… a true celebration of culture and community.

This project has been a real career highlight.

Huge thanks to my videographer trainees & (tag if needed), and to Selami Simsek & Martine Kristelle St. Juste Anson for holding down the main camera while I was on stage 🙌

Big shoutout to Daniel Onyia and Chocolate Films for capturing the event and producing an incredible 2-day timelapse from build to finale 🎥

Long (and sleepless!) turnaround… but 100% worth it.

Massive thank you to Battersea Power Station for hosting and the Wandsworth Council Arts team for making it all happen 👏
