Being trusted to film and document so many incredible events across the year has been a true privilege — and without a doubt, a highlight of my career. It also gave me the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have my work displayed on the iconic Piccadilly Circus screens — a moment I’ll never forget.

From large-scale productions to community-led moments, every event told its own story. But beyond what was captured on camera, it’s the connections and collaborations that made this experience so special. Working alongside such a passionate team, and with so many talented artists and creatives across Wandsworth, has been genuinely inspiring.

More than anything, this year gave me a sense of belonging. What started as an opportunity became something much deeper — a community, strong relationships, and a team that truly feels like family.
Thank you again for your trust, your support, and for creating something so meaningful for Wandsworth and its creative community. I’m proud to have played a part in capturing it.

Also shout out to Daniel Onyia from chocolate film and Ewan Michael Riley who collaborated with me on the 12th Last Songs / and some of “The Beat Goes On” clips in this video.

This video is just a glimpse — a small selection of moments that could never fully capture the scale and spirit of such an unforgettable year.

What a way to close an unforgettable year as London Borough of Culture ✨

I had the privilege of filming the final event, “The Beat Goes On” — set against the iconic Battersea Power Station — and it was nothing short of electric ⚡️

Filming from the stage and capturing the crowd was a moment I won’t forget. Thousands of people dancing, singing, fully lost in the music… with incredible performances from Basement Jaxx, Romeo & Lisa Maffia ( ), and Sarah Jayne Crust’s Dolly Parton tribute — the energy was unreal 🔥

The entire Power Station came alive.

From theatre (Jellyfish Theatre), circus and stilt walkers (BrainFools), the vibrant Urban Flow parade, to New Orleans jazz from World Heart Beat — every corner was filled with creativity. Choirs, dancers, performers inside and out… a true celebration of culture and community.

This project has been a real career highlight.

Huge thanks to my videographer trainees & (tag if needed), and to Selami Simsek & Martine Kristelle St. Juste Anson for holding down the main camera while I was on stage 🙌

Big shoutout to Daniel Onyia and Chocolate Films for capturing the event and producing an incredible 2-day timelapse from build to finale 🎥

Long (and sleepless!) turnaround… but 100% worth it.

Massive thank you to Battersea Power Station for hosting and the Wandsworth Council Arts team for making it all happen 👏

This highlight video is just a glimpse of a very special day.

This is the 5th film in the Sing to Thrive series.

For this one, I asked participants a simple question: why do you sing?
Their answers were honest, moving, and deeply personal — from finding joy and connection, to boosting mental wellbeing and feeling part of something bigger.
It’s a powerful reminder that singing is about so much more than music.
Take a moment to listen — you might recognise a reason of your own. 🎶

POV: You’re meant to be filming the Sing to Thrive FlamenChorus performance at Southside Shopping Centre… but they start singing your favourite Sevillana 💃🎥

Suddenly the camera’s still rolling… but so are your hands, your feet, and your self-control 😅
…and your head is still attached to the camera via the headphones, so no turns for you… lol

This is the fourth film celebrating singing in Wandsworth as part of Sing to Thrive — Wandsworth’s borough-wide celebration of singing. 🎶

In this video, we explore how singing makes people feel — lifting moods, boosting morale and helping people feel more relaxed, confident and connected. Many choir members shared how singing together brings joy, reduces stress and creates a strong sense of belonging.

How would you invest £1 million in your community over 10 years?

That was the question at the heart of our Big Local SW11 journey. The Battersea community came together to decide how this funding could make a real and lasting difference where we live.

I’m proud to share my documentary telling the story of that journey — the people, the ideas, the impact it has had on our neighbourhood and celebrate everything we’ve achieved together.

Big Local SW11: £1 Million, 14 Years, One Powerful Community Story

Tomorrow we celebrate the journey of Big Local SW11 (see poster attached), and I’m incredibly excited to share my documentary with the public — a film that captures this remarkable chapter in Battersea’s community history.

Back in 2011, our local community was awarded £1 million through the Big Local programme. What followed was far more than a series of projects — it became a powerful example of what can happen when residents come together, take the lead and invest in their own neighbourhood.

The documentary tells the story of that journey: the people, the ideas, the challenges and the achievements that have shaped the past 14 years.

This project is particularly meaningful to me because I was one of the 12 original volunteers who stepped forward at the very beginning. I helped create the Big Local SW11 website and social media, and over the years I have documented this journey through film and photography — witnessing first-hand the many inspiring initiatives that were created and funded.

While this chapter of Big Local SW11 is coming to an end, the story doesn’t stop here. The legacy will continue through Battersea Alliance, ensuring that the spirit of collaboration, community leadership and local action lives on. In many ways, it will also continue through Kambala Clubroom, which we hope to reopen soon as a welcoming community space for local residents.

📍 Saturday 14 March, 2–5pm
📌 York Gardens Library, Battersea

If you’ve been part of the journey — or are simply curious to see what a community can achieve when people work together — come and join us for this special celebration.
