Enormously proud of friend and client who will be making her West End debut in Avenue Q this March at the Shaftesbury.
We started together 4 years ago, and Les was sad about her momentum, and didn’t feel great about her representation, and wasn’t getting into rooms, and she had questions about her technique.
What a precious thing to steadily watch her unfold into her artistry. How brilliant that when she felt ready, I got to recommend her to a meet with my friend, the enigmatic and mountain-hearted Skye Crawford, head agent at Crawford Marriot and Associates - . What a cool thing to build with Les, one audition at a time, one workshop at a time, one song at a time to this place of inner momentum and craft and brightness.Today, rightfully, there are a TONNE of humans who are active champions of Lesley. Casting directors and directors and producers who call her in preferentially. Musical Directors and Composers who pitch their pieces for her to sing.
It doesn’t always happen that building your inner momentum has a pay-off in West End contracts, it doesn’t have to lead that way. The West End is enormously competitive, and specific. HOWEVER here for Les, it has. And MY GOODNESS is she up for it.
Her chops are ROCK SOLID. Comedically and in her singing technique, more she is DYNAMICALLY UNAFRAID of learning new skills, because her foundations are so well built. Her puppetry is TOP TIER. I anticipate that this contract will be the beginning of a rapid expansion of Lesley’s Global artistic standing. Many, many more humans now will get a chance to marvel at the gleaming sun that is Les’s craft and optimism and joy.
I am going to watch Avenue Q many, many times.Congratulations to you my beautiful friend.
