What's in a headline? I came across Mervyn when walking through our village churchyard. 'He loved cows', Marigold & Snowdrop especially it seems! Despite its age and the fact it was lying down, his stone really stood out as a 'headline' about him. No simple name, occupation and dates for Mervyn. It told me loads about him the person and intrigued me enough to try and find out more about him (and the cows). Where did he live in the village? What else did he love? Was there a cow whose name didn't make it onto the stone - why not? Are any descendants of his or those cows still here? It got me thinking even more about headlines than I already had been thanks to a crazy 5 day LinkedIn challenge I had been on with Helen Pritchard, made me realise again that a headline is so much more than a title, it needs to tell people about you, not just your role and company. According to a local, people stop and chat with Mervyn! My aim is to get my headlines to speak to people in the same way as Mervyn's still does all these years later. What does your headline say about you?

Spring really has sprung and it got me thinking about all the hats a business owner wears (me included) and how many hat racks may need a clear out to free up space for greater things. I love hats and am always looking for new ones. I love to take on the jobs that small business owners don't have the time or inclination for. Happy to chat if your hat rack needs a spring clean.

Hello and welcome to my page. I would love to tell you a bit more about me, my business and how I work with some fabulous clients. I hope you will decide to hang around here. Every business owner has to wear many hats but they don't all suit their heads. This is great news as I love hats, all sorts of hats, the bigger and wilder the better and they suit me. I have been an account director, head of production, content director, marketing manager, events manager, customer services manager and generally over the years whether working for a Global Financial Institution, Marketing or Tech start up have rolled my sleeves up to get things done.

I now live on the South Downs with my husband and crazy spaniels and have been building a farm from scratch. I also use all the skills I have acquired over the years to support busy executives, entrepreneurs and business owners locally and further afield. I wear some of their hats for them, whether that be writing great content, supporting their sales or marketing effort, focusing on business development or managing their diaries and messages. I don’t need to work in their offices, so they don't need to pay for another seat. Through the power of fantastic technology we are constantly communicating and I am 'doing the doing'. When not at my desk I can be found outside running our dogs or checking on our livestock including chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese and sheep. I love cooking up a storm in the kitchen. With so much great local produce on my doorstep, not to mention the vineyards and breweries I can guarantee if you decide to visit me here you will be well fed and watered - you do not have to though. Its a virtual world after all.

Before arriving at my desk this morning I got outside, let out the ducks, chickens, geese, turkeys & quails. Making sure they were all fed, watered & healthy. Then I went to check on the bees something I find really calms me. It's great to see them getting busy again after winter, building their supplies and foundations for the coming year, working together, tidying up their hives. Bees are incredible and we can learn so much from them. I may have been the accidental beekeeper a year ago but with nurturing over winter they have survived to build and grow this year. I like to think that my approach to clients business offers the same kind of order.
