HarrisonParrott is delighted to announce that conductor Nil Venditti has been appointed Chief Conductor of Lahti Symphony Orchestra - Sinfonia Lahti in Finland. She will begin her three-year tenure, with the option of a two-year renewal, from the 2027/28 season, which will include a minimum of six performing weeks per season.

Venditti shares her excitement about her upcoming role and her collaboration with the musicians of the orchestra: “I keep thinking about the very first notes we shared together — that mix of curiosity, joy, warmth, trust and stubborn pride that defines the sound of this orchestra. To become the new Chief Conductor of Lahti Symphony Orchestra means finding a home among these people, in their music and in the traditions they carry forward — and I’m incredibly grateful and honoured for that. There’s a trust in the air here that you can feel with every breath, and a curiosity I can’t wait to discover, nurture and share with our audiences and communities. Lahti is a unique place, full of tradition, with an orchestra that has its own distinctive voice. Across his early years at Madrid’s Teatro Real via guest performances at some of the world’s most important opera houses and festivals to his home stage of Budapest’s Hungarian State Opera, Szemerédy has built a diverse body of repertoire experience including Bluebeard’s Castle, Tosca, Rusalka, Salome, The Makropulos Affair, Il tabarro and Elektra among many others.

HarrisonParrott is delighted to welcome American-Canadian conductor Kyrian Friedenberg to its roster for worldwide general management.

Friedenberg came to international attention after winning the 2022 Neeme Järvi Prize at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and has since received Solti Foundation U.S. Career Assistance Awards in 2024 and 2025. In 2025, he was a Grand Finalist of the 59th Besançon International Competition for Young Conductors.

Per Chernobyl ha incorporato nella colonna sonora suoni metallici, ronzii meccanici e sibili registrati all’interno di una centrale nucleare in Lituania. In Joker, persino la luce giallastra e “malata” del film sembra arrivare direttamente dal suo violoncello. In Tár, l’inquietante paesaggio sonoro rende minacciosa la precisione geometrica degli interni e il bianco inamidato delle camicie sartoriali. Visivamente, tutto comunica controllo; sul piano del suono, invece, si percepisce un pericolo invisibile. L’ordine visivo diventa una gabbia psicologica. La sua musica ipnotica e meditativa crea paesaggi immersivi di straordinario calore e intimità. In definitiva, trasporta i film in una dimensione completamente diversa.

Happy Birthday Vladimir Ashkenazy!

Among the first artists who joined HarrisonParrott in 1969, Vladimir Ashkenazy’s relationship with the agency spanned more than five decades, from his early years as a pianist to an international career as a conductor, and on to his retirement in 2020.

This long partnership reflects a shared commitment to trust, long-term thinking and artistic integrity, values that shaped a remarkable career and continue to inform how we work today.

In looking ahead, we have also been looking back. Delving into the HarrisonParrott archives has uncovered a wealth of stories, photographs and reflections that speak to the relationships at the heart of our history.
