It’s a fitness class that isn’t a fitness class: it is fun with a range of dance styles and steps, no prior dancing experiences or coordination required. Zumba is a party workout that is such a laugh that it does not feel like a work out at all
, so we can all get fit without feeling like we’re doing WORK. On the technical side, it is a great work out for the core- abs, legs and all over cardio. It is a party workout for both boys and girls, and the only things required really are a big smile- or a sultry pout, willingness to have a go and we can get the party started! Any discomfort or injury - or conditions that would affect your work out such as pregnancy must be made known to the instructor prior to the beginning of the class. There is NO right or wrong in Zumba, so the instructor is there to show you steps and moves and it is completely up to the participants to adapt it and adjust it to their personal style and abilities. There is no obligation to absolutely follow everything if there should be any discomfort or aches. Or if you have much better interpretation of a move or of a music, all the better!
