✨A pretty brand without a solid foundation and strategy just doesn't work. Another way to look at this is to ask yourself if you have ever bought something from a brand simply because you liked the look of their logo?

✨It 's highly unlikely. It might attract you initially, but if you find that it's just pretty for the sake of being pretty, and it doesn't have any depth to it then you will most probably lose interest very quickly.

✨Having a brand rooted in strategy that focuses on the core elements of what your brand is about and how it shows up in the world is the best way to stand out from the crowd and reach your target audience.

3 Excuses that that stop you going after your dreams

2️⃣ I don't know how to start
3️⃣ The market is too saturated

But the truth is you can make time, action brings clarity and there is a clear demand in the market. Plus no one is you (and that is your unique genius you bring to the table).

Excuses or Expansion you get to choose . You always get to choose if you will keep making excuses that prevent you from chasing after the dreams and life you want or if you will choose to have the courage to allow your life to expand in the direction of your dreams.

I'm really excited to celebrate my client who launched her new skincare brand last week. 🎉 The brand has been in the works for a while and I'm so thrilled that it's finally out into the world.

Tosin the founder is a multi talented pharmacist, clinical researcher and makeup artist. Her brand was born out of her own struggles with her skin and focuses on corrective skincare for hyperpigmentation prone skin - with a mission to make women feel confident in their own skin.

We worked together on certain aspects of her Brand Strategy to clarify her product offering/development, brand direction, audience, brand name and content direction.

I firmly believe that the best brands are always rooted in brand strategy and these areas we focused on form part of the sections included within my full brand strategy process. All of which add to the roadmap for building an effective brand.

I love this topic, because it's the thing that affects if your brand is impactful, powerful, irresistible, connects and stands out ⠀

Or whether your brand blends into the crowd and isn't memorable to your audience.⠀

As a general definition - brand perception is the sum total of the feelings, thoughts, beliefs and experiences that someone has when they encounter or interact with you as a brand.⠀

This goes for if you are a business or personal brand and whether you offer products or services or yourself as a brand.⠀

Why it matters ⠀

It matters because positive brand perception contributes towards that all important know, like and trust factor that is so crucial for propelling your brand to success. It helps to build an engaged audience and customers which converts to sales, and also builds brand ambassadors who support you and will happily recommend you to others.⠀

Why you might be struggling⠀

For most brands that struggle to connect with their audience it's often because they haven't started from a place of strategy. So they haven't gotten clear on what their brand is about, the brand experience their audience should have and how to present their brand in such a way that their audience both understands and connects with it⠀

This is why brand perception is one of the most important sections of your brand strategy. BECAUSE the right perception in the mind of your audience = connection, increased sales and opportunities.⠀

So, if you are thinking 🙋🏾 that sounds like me. I want to invite you to start doing a little work to shift your brand perception in the right direction: ⠀

It starts with asking yourself the following 2 questions to identify your gaps⠀

1) What would you like your ideal audience to perceive about your brand?⠀
2) What is the current perception they have about your brand and how can you ? You might need to ask a few people if you feel a bit stuck here⠀

WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN//⠀

Maybe it's because I come from a family of girls (I have 4 sisters) so I can't imagine doing life without other women.⠀

But when it comes to business the journey of entrepreneurship can often feel quite lonely. And, so many of us go through it feeling quite isolated and unsure of things.⠀

What would happen if we intentionally started sharing more and looking at how we can make more room for each other to grow. If we networked and collaborated more, let go of comparison, fears of " there is limited space at the table" and pushed each other to realise the sky's the limit.✨

This is why I'm so excited to be hosting this room with these amazing female founders in beauty. ⠀

We are coming together to talk about all things business growth, lessons learned, mentorship + friend-torship, community, networking and of course beauty ⠀

Each one of them is a powerhouse of knowledge, grit, beauty and support. And they all kindly said yes to joining me on this all important topic of how we as women can support one another in our journey and will be sharing their valuable knowledge and tips to help you in your beauty business journey.⠀

Part of that conversation will also focus on how every single one of us is both a student and mentor. Yes that includes you even if you don't see it. And how we can be friend-tors to one another. It's not always about looking for the woman who is way above you, instead look at the women on your right and left and challenge yourself to raise her up. It's by raising others that we serve and raise ourselves. ⠀

Let's have a real honest moment - How often have you had a moment of clarity where you realise that you know what you need to do for your business BUT you are not actually doing it?⠀

That's because 'knowing' isn't the problem. ⠀

Success is in the doing. Because doing is what creates clarity and momentum.⠀

✨Doing is what increases your visibility ⠀

✨Doing is what helps you achieve your goals⠀

✨Doing is what gets you some coverage in the media⠀

✨Doing is what moves the needle forward in your business⠀

✨Doing is what helps you connect with your ideal target audience⠀

✨Doing is what brings you the personal brand opportunities you are dreaming about⠀

But it requires something from you...it requires you to take action.⠀

All too often we confuse doing with knowing or talking about what we are going to do as opposed to actually doing it.⠀

I know this because I've been there! I've been in your space where I've excitedly spoken to a friend about what I know and what I'm planning to do in my business but then not actually done it.⠀

I find that I "DO and thrive” , when I have some accountability and support ' because here is the thing, being a solopreneur can get lonely and we are not meant to do life on our own.⠀

It might be :⠀

Scheduled update or learning meetings? And I'm there. learning, sharing and supporting (which incidentally are some of my key values 😊)⠀

Co-working sessions? Sign me up - I love working alongside other women in business and bouncing ideas off each other.⠀


But the key is to implement everything you learn, that's where the real value and growth lies.⠀

If this message hits home and you're beginning to recognise that you are struggling to implement all the ideas, to do's and plans for your business - then accountability and support is your answer. Try to do this with yourself, a business bff or a coach. ⠀

Whatever you decide to do just make sure you are taking action and doing...⠀

2020 changed the way we approach skincare and beauty. From having to work from home to pivoting some of our offerings. It also brought on a whole new range of beauty issues including maskne, dry hands, stressed skin etc. As well as a greater need for community and connection with brands.

One of the things I love about the beauty industry is its resilience and innovation. To take all these changes onboard and to get back up and keep moving forward. Yesterday I was invited to take part in a race and diversity townhall by the looking at black beauty within the UK beauty industry.⠀

It was great to be in a virtual room full of amazing men and women who are all experts in their own areas. And to listen, share and discuss the challenges and changes needed to move the industry forward. There were so many valuable and insightful contributions, and from the discussion it highlighted areas around accessibility, the language used, media representation, barriers to entry, education, business opportunities, etc that need to change within the industry when it comes to black owned brands. . ⠀

When we want things to change, I feel it's important that we get involved in the changes that affect us, so we can ensure they are in line with the direction we want things to move towards. I'm thankful to be part of these important conversations to shape the solutions needed for us to have a more inclusive british beauty industry. And I'm hopeful that these lessons and contributions will be used to create a better future for our industry

So, for the last few years I've run my Dream, Do and Design workshop in January to help female founders dream and plan for the year ahead.⠀

But, in speaking to my community, I realised that people have really struggled in this whirlwind of a year to not just set goals but actually implement them and that they needed More. ⠀

More Support, More Coaching, More Accountability and More Community.⠀

So out of that need, I'm so happy to announce my Grow with Purpose mastermind which will be starting on 6th January.⠀

The Grow with Purpose Mastermind is⠀

A 3 month mastermind with like-minded women and coach (me) in a safe space all designed to help YOU grow with purpose and bloom in 2021.⠀

It includes personal coaching, support, accountability and smart goal setting/implementation within a mastermind. Helping you to regroup and hit rest on your business, your mind, and your life as we head into a new year.⠀

It starts on the 6th January and will run for 3 months. Helping you get laser focused on upleveling your business and life in the next 90 days.⠀

It's been forever since I've shown my face on here so I thought I would pop onto your timeline with a to introduce myself to all the beautiful new faces around here! (it's lovely to have you here and you are so welcome💕) and to my longtime supporters (heyyy 😘 ) I truly appreciate you all and I'm grateful to have you on this journey with me.⠀

I'm a PR Coach and Brand Strategist based in London, UK. My passion is empowering female founders to become KNOWN, SEEN and HEARD for who you are and what you do through the power of PR and BRAND STRATEGY. ⠀

I love helping women to strategically build a brand around their ideal person so they can attract their PEOPLE to them, and develop a business that is both PROFITABLE and IMPACTFUL.⠀

Fun Fact: I absolutely love cakes, both baking them and eating them. My favourite is a good old fashioned vanilla sponge or Victoria sponge, 🍰 but ...I make the most amazing chocolate cupcakes and brownies (yes my personal toot horn is loud for this one 🤣 with two secret ingredients ) to the point that everytime I make them, I have people offering to pay me to make them more. 😊 Oh and I have actually made a few friends wedding cakes before that's how good my cakes are. Personal toot horn again.✨⠀
