Isaac Stokes - Flanker / Lock / 8 Man - 6’5” - 3.5 GPA - Fall 2027
American Rugby Scholarships is proud to announce the signing of Isaac Stokes, a talented 6’5” flanker in Year 13 at The Newcastle School and Vice Captain of the school’s 1st XV. Isaac also plays his club rugby with Percy Park RFC and is honoured to have participated in both the Scottish National Pathway and the Red Bulls Academy.
A highly intelligent and determined player, Isaac combines impressive size and athleticism with a relentless workrate and an ability to make an impact across the entire pitch. He is a dominant presence at the lineout, consistently winning the majority of his opportunities, while his agility and deceptive speed — particularly for a forward of his size — allow him to cover ground quickly and contribute in all areas of the game. Isaac reads the game exceptionally well, anticipates what is needed, and uses his understanding of play to make smart decisions and support his teammates.
Isaac brings a quiet determination to everything he does. His reserved underdog mentality means he never gives up and is prepared to keep working when others might step back. Combined with his leadership qualities, intelligence, and strong team ethic, he is a player who can be relied upon in challenging moments. Well liked by his teammates, Isaac leads by example and has earned the respect of those around him as Vice Captain of his school team.
A strong student as well as an accomplished rugby player, Isaac is interested in studying International Business/Finance at university. He is now eager to take the next step in his academic and rugby journey in the United States, where we are excited to support him in finding the right college environment to develop his considerable potential both on and off the pitch.
