Last month, I had the privilege of attending a special reception at 10 Downing Street, alongside small business owners, to mark an important milestone in the campaign to tackle late payments through the Small Business Protections (Late Payments) Bill.
Behind every small business is courage, resilience, risk, sacrifice and belief. When payments are delayed, the impact is not just financial. It affects confidence, cash flow, planning, growth and the wider pressures business owners have to navigate.
It was a pleasure to meet with the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, and the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Peter Kyle. Truly appreciated the time taken to meet with us and engage in meaningful conversations about SMEs.
Moments like this are a reminder that representation matters, and that small business voices need to be heard where decisions are made.
Grateful to have had this opportunity, and to continue supporting work that helps small businesses be seen, heard and valued. Thank you to Federation of Small Businesses for the ongoing work in championing small businesses and ensuring their voices are part of these important conversations.
