It is officially one week until Thanksgiving and this moment feels like the calm before the storm! This client’s home was completed years ago, but today I am thinking about their space and how it hosts the dozens of family members who gather for holiday traditions each November. Spilling over from the kitchen, this Keeping Room gets quite the workout!

It is hard to believe, but this week marks the ten year milestone of Summer Williams Design, UK! In the summer of 2012, I set off to start my own design practice in London and it has been a crazy journey ever since. I want to say a special thank you to all of those who have supported me along the way : friends, colleagues, vendors, my dear family (who have been my biggest cheerleaders every step of the way), and of course to the clients who believed in me when I needed it most. Being a female entrepreneur and starting a business all on your own is beyond tough, but my passion for design & artisanship are still running strong and have made it all worth the ride! Cheers to TEN!

Bringing new life to a historical property is one of my favorite things. It is said that during the 1880’s Ellen Axson Wilson was courted in this same home - the meeting place of her husband, U.S. President Woodrow Wilson.
