Big ups to everyone who made 10,000 HOURS such a special event and for once again proving that what we do, and the community we proudly represent are truly unrivalled.

People have been describing .World events as:

“10/10 experience. Such a fantastic event, full of people from all walks of life - Vibrant art, great music - I haven’t coloured in years; and it was great to feel like childlike again.”

“Excellent all round. Best experience ever. I’ve been 3 times. I took my friends for girls night out, and everyone loved it.”

“A place every artist needs to go to. The atmosphere was so chilled, lovely people, with creativity and good music hanging in the air all night. The organisers are so balanced, my type of peeps!”

10,000 HOURS was our best show yet! Hundreds of people showed up to see cool art, make cool sh*t, meet cool people and just have a good time.

OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS, PHOTOGRAPHERS, DESIGNERS, ILLUSTRATORS, SCULPTORS, AND CREATIVE PRACTITIONERS TO EXHIBIT IN OUR NEXT SHOW ➡️ GIVE PRESENCE ⬅️

Following the huge success of ‘FACE 2 FACE’, ‘TOUCH GRASS’ and ‘10,000 HOURS’ we’re back with our FOURTH show at Laundry Studios, and this time we’re exploring what we’re really giving each other.

We’re looking for artwork that explores:

• Presence + attention
• Giving + receiving
• Human connection
• Love + care
• Time
• Generosity
• Ritual + tradition
• Togetherness
• Meaningful exchange
• Making by hand
• Memory + nostalgia
• The art of gifting

Interpret the theme however you want.

🚨 OPEN CALL: DISABLED ARTISTS 🚨

This November, Creative Debuts x Other Box x Studio 404 are teaming up for Disability Awareness Month, and we’re looking for disabled artists from across the UK to exhibit their work in Central London.

Your work doesn’t have to be about disability. We want to create space for disabled artists and celebrate the breadth of creativity, perspectives and practices within the community.

We welcome artists with visible and non-visible disabilities, physical, sensory, learning or cognitive disabilities, long-term health conditions, mental health conditions and neurodivergence.

🌟 Congratulations to our August grant recipient, osama 🎉
 
AUGUST RECIPIENT:

💐 Recipient #152 - osama - I’m Osama (or Ozzy – my dj alias), a London-based electronic music DJ. Over the past couple of years, I have been DJing at numerous venues across the UK and Europe, as well as recently becoming a resident DJ at Subtle Radio. Through my sound I aim to create an immersive sonic experience which takes you on a journey fusing together dark and gritty sounds with touches of the ethereal.

❓ What advice would you give your younger creative self now? 
 
🗣️ Don’t be afraid to fail. It is the only way that you learn, and it is much better to fail early and learn than to never try at all.
 
 
🎒 The Black Artists Grant (BAG) is a £500 no-strings financial support to help UK-based Black creatives.
We recognise that a full institutional overhaul and dismantling of racist structures is required to transform the art industry permanently, but we hope in a small way that this grant will help enable recipients to continue their artistic practice when the odds are so stacked against them.

Thank you to everyone who came to 10,000 HOURS!

Hundreds of you showed up to celebrate the practice, persistence and and the work that goes into an artwork, and once again reminded us why creating spaces for people to come together IRL matters so much.

Prioritising presence over performance, chatting to strangers who become friends, planting the seeds for creative collaborations. These events truly are like no other and it takes everyone bringing the right energy to make it happen.

Photos + film are coming this week and we can’t wait to share them with you (and relive it all over again!).

Thank you to everyone who came to 10,000 HOURS!

Hundreds of you showed up to celebrate the practice, persistence and and the work that goes into an artwork, and once again reminded us why creating spaces for people to come together IRL matters so much.
