Hiding vulnerability often makes things worse, not better.

It often looks like everyone else has it together.

But what we see on the outside…
isn’t necessarily what’s going on on the inside.

Is this really “impostor syndrome”…
or is it something else?

That moment where you feel like you might be found out.

Not quite up to the job.

This shows up for far more people than we tend to realise.

Curious what resonates for you.

What are we really looking for in our working lives?

For many people, it’s not just success — it’s meaning, contribution, and a sense of ease in ourselves.

And yet it can sometimes feel as though we’re performing our working lives rather than truly inhabiting them.

There is another way.

We've all got an ego - whether we like to admit it or not.

Only when we can notice what it's up to, include it and the vulnerable parts of us underneath can we start to take intelligent and balanced decisions.

Here's our take on how to do that...

By Daniel Kingsley In this article Daniel explores how not to be taken over by our emotions and our ego, in order to be more balanced leaders and

"Do you see me?"
"Do you care that I'm here?"...
"Am I welcome?"

These are questions that we are constantly subconsciously asking of our audience every time we stand up and speak in public.

But we can't rely on them to answer them for us, if we wish to feel genuinely confident.

That requires us to learn how to welcome *ourselves*.

If you'd like to find out more...read check out our latest article.

We're English and English people love to complain! It's a way we connect with each other.

Unfortunately, research shows that complaining makes us feel worse.

To compound this, as humans we have an inbuilt negativity bias. Our brains are programmed to focus on what's difficult, uncomfortable or painful.

And this bias can often make our day to day lived experience as leaders or speakers much trickier.

The good news is that we can learn how to deliberately rebalance by deliberately bringing joy and pleasure into our lives.

If you're interested to learn how, have a read of our latest article.

As always we'd love to know your experience in the comments below.

And if there are any principles or tips that you think I've missed, please do fill us in!

Do you ever get triggered? We certainly do! Small things happening in our personal or working life can suddenly make us feel furiously angry.

We can hear our inner critics telling us that we shouldn't be overreacting in this way - that we shouldn't be letting these things get under my skin, and that I should simply calm down. But that only seems to make things worse.

Fortunately, we've found some techniques that *do* work when this happens and our Director, Daniel Kingsley has written an article about them.

The methods he shares aren't a silver bullet, but they do really help us, and people we've coached.

We'd love to know what you think, and if there are any other methods that you think I or anyone else should know about, we'd love to hear them.
