More than 1,700 people aboard a British cruise ship have been confined to the vessel in Bordeaux, France, after a suspected stomach flu (norovirus) outbreak.
French authorities have prohibited passengers from disembarking following reports of around 50 cases of gastroenteritis and the death of a 90-year-old passenger. The ship, carrying mostly British and Irish holidaymakers, is currently under quarantine as health officials work to contain the highly contagious virus.
This latest incident highlights the ongoing challenges cruise lines face with rapid-spreading illnesses in confined environments.

Why should British streets, schools and communities be forced to adapt to customs that clash with our culture and values? Integration means adopting British ways — not importing foreign traditions and demanding everyone else accept them.
