New Business Visa For UK

The government has published its plan spelling the end of free movement. A long-awaited white paper on post-Brexit migration proposes that EU workers would in future have to earn a minimum salary in a job requiring A-level qualifications or above to be sponsored for a UK work visa. “Low-skilled” workers not meeting these criteria would be restricted to short-term visas of one year at a time.

The seasonal worker pilot will be run under the existing Tier 5 (Temporary Worker) category. It will be open to applicants over the age of 18. In addition to making some amendments to Part 8 relating to dependants, and Part 6A of the Immigration Rules (in particular the part under the sub-heading “Tier 5 (Temporary Worker) Migrants), the statement of changes introduces a new appendix into the Rules, Appendix U.

Chaos as Home Office rows back suspension of Tier 1 (Investor) visa.

There is widespread confusion about the status of Tier 1 (Investor) visas, with the Home Office already rowing back last week’s announcement that the route was suspended with immediate effect. It was widely reported last Thursday that the route would be closed to new applications from midnight the next day due to concerns over money laundering, but the department provided no official confirmation beyond the press release evidently sent to news organisations, and the online application system remains live. Now the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association says that there is no suspension, at least not yet, and that there is no indication of when it will kick in, if at all.
