Bronze railings & brick shells: Our latest limited edition brick celebrates two lesser-known materials hiding alongside St Paul’s iconic Portland stone.

Introduced over 300 years apart, both are chosen for their properties rather than appearance alone. Firstly, the cathedral’s famous dome conceals two brick shells, a lighter and more efficient solution introduced after settlement was detected during construction. Then more than 300 years later, aluminium bronze was selected for the railings of the cathedral’s first permanent accessible entrance, a material chosen for its strength and corrosion resistance.
