🎙️🎧 On our podcast queue this weekend: The first episode of the Transit Voices podcast with Ben Whitaker and guest David Leininger. The two discuss cost savings for transit agencies and how new technologies can bring these savings. David makes the point that savings are only possible if, in addition to bringing new technologies on board, agencies also eliminate some of the traditional processes that are cost-heavy and can be better served by the newly adopted technologies.

🥁🥁🎉🥳 We are thrilled to announce that Ben Whitaker has been appointed to the position of Chief Evangelist here at Masabi. Congratulations to Ben!

This new role will include responsibilities such as highlighting to governments, transit agencies and partners globally how to reduce cost, waste, and risk through shared platforms and lightweight Bring Your Own Ticket (BYOT) options. Ben will also promote the delivery of more rapid and continuous improvements to citizens from Fare Payments-as-a-Service platforms that get continuous upgrades without expensive change orders.

We’re excited to see the impact Ben will make on the transit industry in this new role!

On November 12, our Justride platform turned 10. And what an amazing decade it has been! A massive thank you to our transit agency clients, Masabees and partners and to everyone who helped us turn Justride in the fare payments platform that riders love. We couldn't have done it without you and we look forward to many more years leading the movement away from bespoke and expensive ticketing systems together! Thank you for being a part of our journey.

Join us in celebrating this important milestone by reflecting on some of the important achievements over the past 10 years 👇
👉 In 2012 we rolled out our first deployment in North America and launched our first-ever Justride system with Boston's MBTA.
👉2016 - The MTA eTix app went live across New York’s Metro-North and Long
Island Rail Roads, enabling riders to purchase tickets at any time on their
smartphones.
👉 In 2019 we saw public transport tickets launched in the Uber app in Denver as well as with St Catharines in the Transit app. 2019 also saw the launch of our Justride Validator (JRV), a multi-format ticket validation device.
👉 2020 marked the launch of the RTS Go contactless fare payment solution in Rochester, NY for Regional Transit Service (RTS).
👉 In 2021 we launched Open Payments for Bilbao, in Spain, allowing passengers to simply tap their bank card to ride public transport across the city of Bilbao.

✈️🇨🇦 We're headed over to next week for the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) Conference and Transit Show and we couldn't be more excited! We're exhibiting at booth #911 and our colleagues Jeff Nullmeyer and Juan Carlos Chavez are eager to walk you through what's new with our fare payments platform, Justride, and tell you about our deployment projects in Canada working with Saskatoon Transit, Calgary Transit, St. Catharines Transit and two more Canadian deployments that are currently under works.

💯🎉Great start to our week as Eau Claire Transit selects Masabi to deliver a phased deployment account-based ticketing system to riders in Eau Claire. We'll be working closely with our partner TransLoc who will be providing a variety of tools to make Eau Claire Transit easy for riders to navigate and for operations to manage the system.

Masabi today announced that it has been selected, along with partner TransLoc, by Eau Claire Transit in Wisconsin to deliver a next-generation fare payment system powered by Masabi’s Justride platform.

🚆📱We are delighted to continue working with the MTA, bringing the functionality of the most-used mobile ticketing app in North America, eTix, into the new MTA TrainTime app powered by Masabi’s Justride SDK. With the new app, riders can search for their train and purchase their ticket in seconds.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) recently launched TrainTime – the new one-stop app for commuter rail customers in the region.
