We've loved since we partnered with them to conceptualise and install their pop in space in Selfridges.

So we were very excited to visit their latest store in Soho, an immersive playground of colour, textures, all celebrating climbing culture.

The store really does reflect Topologie’s identity, lots of lightweight metals, colour, pegboards, exposed fixings, muted finishes and technical detailing with a strong focus on urban fashion.

Topologie has successfully created a great space that merges being an outdoor gear retail store, contemporary fashion showroom and lifestyle concept store.

As forever trainer fans, we love this standout industrial style popup installation at Size?
Their flagship on Carnaby Street is well known for hosting immersive Nike pop-up experiences, often centred around sneaker culture, Nike SB, and ACG releases. The store regularly transforms parts of its basement and upper levels into creative retail and exhibition style spaces designed to showcase special collections and launches.

Streetwear didn’t just grow up, it really has transformed.

A visit to the flagship in Soho made that clear.

Located on Wardour Street, Represent is around 5,000 sq ft across two floors, making it the brand’s largest store combining retail + cafe + community space.

What started as a niche, underground streetwear culture has evolved into something far bigger. It is now a global, experience led brand.

Key shifts we’re seeing as they build their stores:

✨ The store experience is as important as the product:
Stores have moved beyond being only a place to shop. They’re immersive spaces designed to evoke emotion, community and loyalty.

✨ It's less about product scarcity and more about product strategy:
Exclusivity still matters, but now it’s intentional, more controlled and brand led.

✨ Brand DNA is still expressed through store design, but those stores are now global:
What was once niche is now worldwide, but the best brands still create a sense of belonging.

The Rise of the Retail Shop Café ☕

The idea of the traditional retail store is quietly changing.
For years, coffee was treated as a courtesy, a small perk to keep shoppers moving.

Today, it’s becoming the reason shoppers walk through the door.

The instore café signals a broader shift in retail strategy, from transaction to interaction, from selling products to creating brand experiences.

We've identified 3 styles of retail café:

⚓ The immersive brand anchor

Luxury brands such as Anya Hindmarch, Joseph and Prada are using cafés as physical expressions of their brand worlds. Carefully designed interiors and signature menus which creates well curated storytelling and the perfect setting for social sharing.

🍵 The community clubhouse

Streetwear leaders like Aimé Leon Dore and Dr. Martens plc use their café to build a sense of belonging. These spaces operate as cultural hubs, where time spent matters more than units sold and loyalty is earned organically.

💭 The value aligned pause

ARKET integrates vegetarian cafés to reinforce its commitment to considered, sustainable living. The café slows the customer down, aligning perfectly with the brand’s Nordic ethos and encouraging a more mindful pace of shopping.
