Today is my business anniversary. The date when I left the corporate world as an employee and began my full time business journey as an entrepreneur.

The journey began in 2008 when I started my consultancy business (2 of them!), alongside my 9 to 5 corporate career. But I took the full leap of faith in 2012 and haven’t looked back since.

In the time I’ve:

- Founded 4 service based businesses
- Won a business award
- Coached/mentored Leaders, Entrepreneurs & Believers
- Spoken on virtual and physical stages
- Trained and educated 100’s of people
- Become an mentor on the Government Help To Grow
- Sold products, worked with groups and 1:1
- Had low lows and navigated challenges
- Lost thousands and made thousands
- Started over many times
- Closed businesses. Started businesses.
- Revamped and change directions
- Survived COVID!
- Travelled
- Made business besties and grown with them

Through the highs and lows, I have had to grow as a person. Learn what REAL perseverance and resilience means. Dug down deep. Held onto my faith in God. Face rejections and the word “no” many times. Navigated wanting to give it all up on countless occasions.

BUT.. 12 years on I am STILL STANDING. STILL SERVING. STILL HERE!

I’ve got my stripes and the t-shirts to be able to serve the way that I do.

I’ve had great successes and I am proud of them. I thank God. It has not been by my power or might but by HIS Spirit. It’s not easy but I’m committed to staying the journey and doing what I am on the earth to do…Support the development of others in business…personally, professionally and spiritually.

I’m grateful to all of my clients who have trusted me to help them navigate their journey. Also for supporting me. I’m thankful to my own mentors and coaches on the way too. We all need help and I will never profess to be “self -made”.

Here’s to the next season and to the new levels that I will be supporting others to attain and sustain. 🥂🎉🙌🏾

PSA- You’ve got work to do for the Kingdom, so you’ve got to fight!

The enemy prowls around “like” a lion (that means he is not he is just pretending to be), seeking whom he can devour.

Let me tell you this.. he cannot devour you if you are a Child of God.

He will always try to talk his mess but you fight back with your sword, which is the Word of God. Follow the example of Jesus when he was tempted.. he answered with the word. Satan had to flee. That is one of the ways that you resist him.

You know that in this season God has called you to build.

He is raising you up.

He is releasing your voice.

He is sending you to serve and do great exploits through your business, ministry and career.

You don’t have time to cower. You may feel the emotion but don’t own it.

Fight and having done all to stand, stand.

Here’s what you do practically:

- Pray
- Fast
- Read the Word
- Pray and speak the Word
- Getting in supportive community
- Seek Godly counsel, support and intercession
- Don’t isolate
- Get a mentor/Coach/accountability
- Plug into your church him
- KEEP DOING THE WORK!

As long as you are moving and progressing, you have won.

“Did I not tell you to be courageous?”… courage is essentially feeling the fear and doing it anyway.

Woman of God… the time is now. Excuses down. Action up.

Faith activated. Without works, it is dead. The last I checked, the fact that you are reading this means you are very much alive.

The fact that you have already started means you have already moved in faith.. continue.

The last time I checked, the Word says we have each been given a measure of faith (Romans 12:3)

Last year, I decided to create a programme to help professionals learn how to package up their expertise to sell as an independent consultant. During the beta launch, I gleaned so much wisdom which I have taken and used to refine the programme to offer even more value.

I am pleased to share The Consultant Pathway, 12-week accelerator programme which has been designed to help those of you who are wanting to build a career and business, as a consultant.

I decided to start my consulting journey back in 2008 because I knew there had to be a different way of working. I knew that my expertise in HR and Employment Law could serve micro businesses and SME's who needed the support but were not yet at the stage to hire someone in-house.

I knew there was a demand for it as I was asked frequently by friends of friends who had businesses for advice. It was a no brainer. Putting a cost to the frequent "pick my brain" requests took a mindset shift, but it paid off!

Four years later in 2012, I took the plunge and left corporate. I got my first client in a matter of weeks referred to me by my previous boss and I've not looked back since. Why am I sharing this? To give you a glimpse into my heart behind creating this programme, which is two-fold...

1) I do not believe that there's a one size fits all way to live and work. There's a way to create a work lifestyle that plays to your strengths, meets your financial needs and makes room life commitments. I believe that work is an element of your life, it isn't your whole life.

2) I am passionate about micro businesses and SME's succeeding and having the access they need to quality professional business advice, support and expertise as early as possible in their journey. Getting it wrong can be devastating to a smaller business. Being able to provide that support beyond the corporate walls and on my own terms, has been rewarding. It's the same for helping aspiring and new consultants to set solid business foundations. It about starting right and well so you can build.

So, for those who either of the above resonate, I have put the programme together to provide the training, guidance, mentorship and a pathway to follow that I did not have, to become a consultant in your area of expertise.

I do not believe that our experiences including the mistakes, are just to be kept to ourselves. Both help me to support my clients by either collapsing time or saving money avoiding the same mistakes I did, where possible.

People have always been "my business" as a HR professional. Coaching, along with mentoring and developing leaders has been at the centre of it all. This programme is no different.
