Anxiety is at an all time high these days. From job security to the pandemic and the isolation that has come with it, we are stressed.
The idea of going back to work in the office has a lot of people feeling concerned.
Here are a few things you can do if you're anxious about a return after months of lockdown isolation.
Find out what new measures your company has in place.
Have a work buddy, or a good friend outside of work, that you can call and chat to if you want to talk anything through.
Plan a route to work that you will feel most comfortable taking. This might be different to the way in which you used to get in to work; maybe you're on the tube less and walking more, or you're cycling to avoid public transport entirely. Give yourself plenty of time to get from A to B.
Get together a commuting kit. This could include hand sanitising gel, mask, gloves etc. and that way you don't even have to think about it. Just throw the kit into your bag and know you've got the essentials.
Think about everything that makes you feel calm and call on those things when you need to - for example, a song, a book, meditating, speaking to a friend.
Discuss what options there are for cutting down the number of hours you are working from the office.
Have a chat to a doctor or medical practitioner.
