-The market isn’t “saturated”, your offer just sucks!

If I could get a penny for every time I had the urge to say this to a client, I would be soooo rich! 😉Who is with me?

Instead of complaining about the plethora of competition, acknowledge the fact that this on itself is the proof that you are on the right track.

Your lack of success only means that your offer fails to address the problems of your target market.

If you always remember that providing relief to someone’s pain is the most irresistible offer, you’ll do just fine regardless of the competition.

A huge thanks to all of you who made it possible, including the amazing staff at the Lanesborough that are always so accommodating…

‘How can I enjoy life/success/the sunset…when other people suffer so much?’

Have you ever asked yourself something along these lines? If you have, let’s be friends!I like you already 😉

We live in a self-centered world where empathy is perceived as a weakness and a barrier to ‘success’.I strongly disagree! To me,empathy is one of the most valuable assets a human can have. What happens however,if this compassion turns into ‘survivor’s guilt’?

Therapists and care professionals often find themselves burdened with a sense of guilt and worthlessness. On a cognitive level, we know it’s not our fault and we could not prevent it from happening but it hurts al the same.

I have spent this past year comforting my students and trying to ‘convince’ them that they are amazing and they deserve to be ‘happy’ for their victories in spite of it all , when I was doing the exact opposite!

My last post was a year ago,not because I had nothing to share, but somehow it felt…disrespectful. Not anymore! If you want to find out what made me change my mind, read my next post:)

‘The map is not the territory ‘
(Alfred Korzybski)
The other day, we were having one last drink before heading back to Athens. Needless to say we were a bit grim that the ‘Summer’ was over.
Sitting next to us ,was a group of Brits who were excitedly discussing their plans for their holidays.
I am not gonna to lie, I was a bit envious. They seemed so carefree...Do you ever catch yourself thinking that the grass is indeed greener at the other side? (I now I do, despite the fact that I coach others to practice gratitude and focus on their potential instead 😜)
The thing is that we often get carried away by our perception of reality and mistakenly take the ‘map for the territory’. The guys sitting next to us, probably thought WE were the lucky ones to live in a country with so much beauty and a lovely weather!
Next time you feel sorry for yourself and your circumstances, remember that someone else would kill to have what you take for granted.😉

‘Working from 🏠 hacks’

If you are a like myself, you have been in the game long enough to know it’s rules. This pandemic ,however , has created a massive transition to widespread remote work. Stanford economist N. Bloom recently wrote that 42% of US labor force is working from home, 32% is unemployed and only 26% is working on business premises.
This emerging new reality comes with new challenges.According to research only 51% reported being able to work efficiently from home. For years I have been working with new business owners that struggle due to this lack of structure. My top tips are the following :
1) Create a RITUAL to jumpstart your working day. Our brain needs a little something to get into the right mode. Choose yours and follow it religiously Monday-Friday

2)Get fully dressed! I know that your pj’s are comfy and snug but they don’t make you feel or act professionally. If you have zoom calls like me,a light makeup makes a huge difference as well ( If you are a girl obv 😂)

3)Allocate a work space. This could be anywhere depending on your work and concentration level. I prefer my office for admin and coaching sessions and a sofa -with sea view- for everything else.

4)Be strict with your schedule. Do not allow anything or anyone to distract you. Accepting calls from your bff, partner, mum is a no go. Take a little break if you must (especially if you have little ones ) but always check your time.

5) Set daily goals/deadlines. I know from first hand how chaotic working from home can become, so please hear me out. Making a list of tasks is not enough. Having a more specific goal is much more motivating and produces results!
We are facing challenging times and we all had to adapt somehow. As someone recently told me ‘ we are in different ships but we all go though the same storm’. Working from home had been a massive change for me ,6 years ago, after working in a hectic corporate environment for 15 years prior to that.Btw I wouldn’t change it for the world now!
What are YOUR top tips for working from home productivity?

That day had nothing special. In fact it was so ‘ordinary’ and uneventful that I don’t even know why Lois took this photo. (Maybe because I look so tired🐼)
If only I knew back then that this was a perfect day!Today I am miles and miles away from London, not even knowing when I am coming back. Please everyone stay safe.🦋 Summer is coming!tbt

‘Now remember, when things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean. I mean plumb, mad-dog mean. Cause if you lose your head and you give up then you neither live nor win. That's just the way it is.’
Forrest Carter

I understand that situations like this might make you feel helpless, scared or even angry. I understand how this affects the economy and it’s impact on thousands (potentially millions) of lives. But I also understand that now it’s time to take over control!

One of the wisest things one can say is ‘Never underestimate your enemy’. Hope for the best, plan for the worst. Avoid unnecessary interactions and travel. Keep calm and let’s keep under control!💪🏻🙏🏻

Today is IWD so you would probably expect me to write about statistics that prove that inequality is real. Or maybe a quote that would remind us that women are strong, capable and yet mistreated.

I choose to do the opposite. I challenge you to see that today, more that ever before, people from every socioeconomic background have access to knowledge and growth. Capable and strong women (and men) can achieve anything but only if they are willing to do the inner work first. So the question is: Are you ready to demolish your limiting beliefs? Are you ready to become your best ally instead of your worst enemy? If you are, nothing and no one can stop you💪🏻🔥💃

‘A man’s character is his fate’ Heraclitus
Fate has a negative connotation. It usually refers to forces outside of our control that predetermine how things will turn out. This quote however, puts everything into perspective. Our character is not something we are born with ,like our personality. Our character is a combo of life wisdom, education and personal choice. Furthermore, it is often classified as personal, social and cultural.
Heraclitus reminds us that what we feed our mind and soul ,and therefore shape our character, determine our outcome. If we choose wisely success will surely follow. Pretty straightforward eh? 😉💋

‘Be happy with what you have.Be excited with what you want’ (Alan Cohen)
Who agrees with me that this quote makes more sense than the one that says ‘You are enough’ ? I mean, if you are ‘enough’ you have no reason to change anything. No motivation to better yourself and your circumstances.Right?
We ,as , believe that we are enough for NOW. Tomorrow is another story...Go get them 🐯!
