MKA Planning Ltd is an independent and highly regarded planning consultancy based in Derry, providing commercially focused planning advice across Northern Ireland.
We are seeking an ambitious Planner / Senior Planner to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic planning professional to work across a diverse portfolio of projects, including residential, education, healthcare, commercial and mixed-use developments.
As a small, entrepreneurial consultancy, you'll benefit from genuine responsibility from day one, direct exposure to clients and decision-makers, and the opportunity to play a key role in shaping projects whilst contributing to the continued growth of the business.
The Role
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the planning process, including:
• Managing planning applications from inception through to determination.
• Preparing planning appraisals, planning statements, and supporting reports.
• Assisting with planning appeals and enforcement matters.
• Advising clients on planning strategy and development opportunities.
• Liaising with local authorities, clients, and external consultants.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Contributing to the continued growth and development of the practice.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
• Is AssocRTPI or MRTPI qualified, or working towards chartership.
• 2-3 years experience in consultancy/planning authority.
• Has experience in writing and managing planning applications and appeals.
• Possesses strong report-writing and communication skills.
• Is commercially aware, proactive and client-focused.
• Enjoys working within a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.
• Is organised, motivated and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
