Most of us have photographs of people we've loved.

Some of us have letters.

A few have old home videos.

But very few people have something even more powerful.

A voice.

The sound of someone laughing.

Their accent.

Their favourite sayings.

The way they tell a story.

That's what makes audio memories so special.

Long after the photographs have been looked at and the possessions have been passed on, a voice can transport you straight back to a moment in time.

That's what OnRECORD is all about.

Preserving voices, stories and memories for future generations.

I'm now taking bookings for recordings from August onwards. To ensure each project receives the time and attention it deserves, we only take on a small number of OnRECORD projects each month. If you've been thinking about recording a loved one's memories, I'd encourage you to get in touch sooner rather than later.

A few years ago, I started asking older relatives more questions.

Not the obvious ones. Not where they were born or where they went to school.

The interesting questions.

What was your first job?

Who taught you to drive?

What did your grandparents do?

What was the biggest challenge you ever faced?

What did you dream of doing when you were young?

What struck me was how quickly the stories started to flow.

Stories I'd never heard before.

Stories that would have been lost if nobody had asked.

That's one of the reasons I created OnRECORD.

Because every family has stories worth preserving, but somebody has to ask the questions before it's too late.
